Breast cancer awareness is something near and dear to a lot of people’s hearts. I worked with Susan G. Komen, Triangle to the Coast organization to help promote the annual Race for the Cure. I support breast cancer research in memory of my aunt who passed away when I was in high school, and in honor of friends who have survived breast cancer. I especially love to support local businesses who support this cause, and Carolina Brewery in Pittsboro and Chapel Hill are very much involved in Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Triangle.
On Saturday, October 1 at 10:00AM, Carolina Brewery will host its 3rd Annual Oktoberfest 5K. After the race, there is an all-day celebration with food, beer, and live music. You can sign up here. If you can’t make it to Carolina Brewery’s Oktoberfest, you can still celebrate and support breast cancer research by buying the pink cap Sky Blue Golden Ales. A percentage of the proceeds from Oktoberfest will go to Susan G. Komen for research! Be sure to check out their Happy Hour that supports the Susan G. Komen Triangle to the Coast organization as well!
Angela and I met at the Chapel HIll location of Carolina Brewery to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the local Susan G. Komen chapter, and our family members affected by breast cancer. Angela’s mom is a survivor and we are both so honored to be a part of this cause!
Be sure to #drinkskypink during October and help support the fight against breast cancer!
