If you are looking for the best pizza in Raleigh, you are in the right place. Over the years, I have scouted neighborhoods from Oakwood to North Hills (and everywhere in between) to find the pies worth your time. David and I take pizza pretty seriously (fun fact: it was the first meal we bonded over when we met!), so we have made it our mission to track down the best slices and pies in town. Raleigh’s pizza scene is a mix of long-time staples and exciting new arrivals, and this updated 2025 guide highlights the five spots that consistently deliver.

5. Vivace

Located in North Hills, Vivace has an amazing patio with delicious pizza options (plus a variety of other amazing menu items, as well)! I have tried all of their options, and cannot go wrong with their Margherita pizza, and the fig and prosciutto is a great option if that is one the menu. David typically orders the carne option and it really brings the heat! In the summer, I really do love the roasted mushroom option because of the truffle oil and lemon ricotta.

4. Amedeo’s

One of the first Raleigh restaurants I remember dining at was Amedeo’s and it is still one of my favorite old school restaurants in town. Their pizza is delicious and the vibe of the restaurant is so cool. This is a must-visit for you if you enjoy traditional pizzas in a space that has been around since 1963. Build your own or try one of their specialty pizzas.

3. Lilly’s Pizza

Lilly’s Pizza is a Raleigh staple located in 5 Points. Its interior is eclectic, casual, and welcoming with gourmet pizzas served with organic ingredients. There are gluten-free and vegan options available as well. Their patio seating is a great spot and perfect for enjoying a nice afternoon. Lilly’s is one of the first restaurants I dined at in Raleigh and I’ve been a big fan of either The Buddha (I love the Kalamata olives!) and the Five Point (fontina cheese, yes please)!

2. Trophy Brewing & Pizza

The flagship of the Trophy empire features an amazing selection of beer, wine, and unique pizza options with a great patio and indoor seating area for when the weather does not cooperate. David and I recommend ordering two small pies and split between each other. My go-to order is the Most Loyal (basil pesto + honey is an amazing combo, y’all!) and David typically orders the Best Dressed. You can also build your own pizza, as well, which is always a fun option.

1. Oakwood Pizza Box
Oakwood Pizza Box is our absolute favorite place in Raleigh for pizza, both for dining in and take out. David loves their cheese pie with pepperoni and I love the addition of the fresh basil. Do not skip out on their amazing wine program (they just opened a great wine bar in Iron Works called St. Pierre). Oakwood just opened its second location, a carry-out spot on Capitol Blvd. Though, the Person Street location is a big favorite of ours because we love the neighborhood.
