One of my favorite places in North Carolina is Fearrington Village. It is the perfect spot for a day trip, a girls’ night away, afternoon tea, and a delicious meal. Plus, their gardens are gorgeous no matter the season, and their bookstore offers some really incredible events. Last month, David and I took a quick little trip to this Pittsboro destination to enjoy a date night staycation. It was such a lovely experience and we had such a relaxing time unplugging and unwinding.

A Date Night Staycation at Fearrington House Inn
Visit the Spa for a Relaxing Treatment

The Spa at Fearrington provides such excellent services. I had a European facial while David had a European massage and we were both impressed with the service and left relaxed. A note about the facilities: While it is a relaxing space and the services are exceptional, you are taken directly back for your service. There is not a space to lounge around prior, so get there as close to your appointment time as possible.
Late Lunch at The Belted Goat

The Belted Goat offers breakfast and lunch plus boasts a nice market to pick up snacks, wine and beer, and Fearrington branded items. Their tomato basil soup with half-grilled cheese is my go-to order. David opted for a full grilled cheese, chili, and a side of pasta salad. It also has a delicious coffee bar and desserts available.
Shop Local at the Shops in Fearrington Village

Fearrington Village offers great shopping, including skincare and loungewear to pamper yourself at home at the boutique at the Spa at Fearrington. Dovecote offers a great selection of women’s clothing and accessories, Nest is a home decor shop with giftable items, and Sprout is a children’s boutique featuring outfits and toys. McIntyre’s Books is one of my favorite bookshops in the area and not only does it offer a great selection of novels, they have a great gift shop portion. Check out the event calendar for trunk shows, author events, and more here!
Check-In to the Inn

I will never not swoon over the rooms at Fearrington House Inn. They are so stunning, yet inviting and comfortable. The staff is so helpful and make the stay as seamless as possible.
Freshen Up for Dinner

After checking in and unpacking, we both relaxed and then freshened up for dinner. David took a cat nap in the sitting room on the overstuffed couch while I opted for a bath in that tub with my book and a glass of wine.
Grab a Pre-Dinner Drink at Roost Beer Garden

Before walking over to our dinner reservation, we stopped to enjoy a rare, cooler evening at the Roost Beer Garden. It is open Thursday-Saturday from the spring through the fall and offers live music on Thursdays and Fridays. In addition to having beer and wine, Roost also serves up pizzas. It makes a nice, casual dining option should you opt to do a day trip to shop and then grab a drink and pizza here.
Dine at the Award-Winning Fearrington House Bar

David & I love the Fearrington House Bar for its ambiance and delicious, yet approachable menu options. We always start with the cheese donuts (you should, too! You’ll never want a donut a different way). This time, we also added the Fearrington Nibbles and you cannot go wrong with the homemade Pringles.
For entrees, David ordered their burger, which lives rent-free in my head as one of the best burgers I have ever had. I ordered fried chicken with potatoes and cabbage and it was delightful!
P.S. I do recommend calling and making reservations for bar seating. It fills up quickly!
Post-Dinner Stroll the Gardens

Following dinner, we took a stroll around the property, saying hi to the Belties, spending some time in the gardens, and enjoying the evening. This is one of my favorite ways to spend time at Fearrington.
Take Advantage of the Quiet

We picked up a bottle of wine at the Belted Goat market and enjoyed the quiet of the property. The restaurant closes at 8:30 and everything else is closed up by then, so it makes Fearrington the perfect place for a relaxing getaway.
Enjoy a Gourmet Breakfast before Check Out

The following morning, after a glorious night’s sleep, we went to breakfast at the restaurant. Their gourmet breakfast is one of my favorite parts of the stay. The breakfast starts with a smoothie shot and, of course, coffee or tea. I opted for the oatmeal with a side of fruit and bacon.
Make plans to visit Fearrington Village and enjoy all of the relaxing qualities of this gem our state has to offer!
Thank you to the Fearrington House for hosting us for our staycation. As always, all opinions are my own.
