A couple of weekends ago, David and I headed north to Baltimore for a little getaway in a city that was new to us. We were excited to have a great weekend of weather and we normally try not to check bags. Here are the 9 essentials we packed for our weekend vacation in the Charm City.
What to Pack for Baltimore
- A Raincoat:
While our weather absolutely gorgeous, we did encounter a quick thunderstorm, so I’m glad I packed a raincoat. I generally prefer a raincoat with a hood instead of an umbrella in the event that it is windy, too. Here’s David’s version, too.
- Comfy Shoes:
David and I generally opt to walk in a city versus taking ride shares or public transportation. Walking gives us better ideas of places to visit, plus we get to have progressive meals and really explore more. I packed these sandals, these mules, and these flats, while David opted for these. P.S. get $20 off Rothy’s using this link, and I get $20 off my next pair, too.
- White Skinnies:
I packed my favorite pair of white skinnies that I could use with multiple tops. Don’t worry, I also brought a Tide to Go pen just in case.
- Dry Shampoo:
I typically get a blowout before I leave for a trip so that I don’t have to wash my hair while I’m traveling. To make my blowout last longer, I always pack dry shampoo if I need a refresher. Here is my current favorite.
- Rose Water Spray:
I keep rose water spray in my purse at all times, but particularly when I travel. It’s perfect for a freshen up after a flight, to set my makeup, and to have a little skin pick me up while we’re out and about. This is my go-to spray that I consistently use.
- Denim Jacket:
This came in handy on our early morning starts and late evening walks. This one has been a favorite for quite some time.
- Rose Salve:
In case I get blisters from all the walking, I keep rose salve in my bag. It heals blisters and cuts faster than any ointment I’ve tried. It also can be used on dry skin, which cuts down on having to pack additional lotions and chap sticks.
- Statement Earrings:
When I travel, I generally keep my outfits pretty simple, but dress up or down with my earrings. I packed my favorite pairs of statement earrings: beaded tassel earrings, beaded drop earrings, Mini Madelines.
- Mobile Cell Phone Charger:
I did pack my camera, but I found myself relying on the camera on my iPhone more, so I made sure to have my mobile charger with me.
As David and I are traveling together, we’re getting more efficient and cutting down on the items we bring. We also rarely head back to our room in between experiences to make the most of our time, so we are really intentional about what we pack. You can see a few other packing items I had for our trip, and I did swap out my shoes from the picture below.
