Election Day is one of my favorite days of the year, and I firmly believe in power dressing to the polls. I always pick out an election outfit to wear to the polls and have decided to share my inspiration for this year’s election cycle. I normally opt to include something white as a nod to the suffragettes. For the primaries, I wore a locally made jacket with Frida Kahlo on the fabric and a gifted pair of earrings by a local artist with the words “Created Equal” in Abraham Lincoln’s handwriting.
Every state has different election rules, so be sure to check with your State Board of Elections to confirm if there are any restrictions on what you can wear. Here is the inspiration I am using for what to wear to the polls.

Schoolhouse Rocks Vote Tee
I mean, are you even a history nerd if you don’t appreciate Schoolhouse Rocks “I’m Just a Bill”? I saw this shirt and immediately added it to cart. Also, come on! That fabric is so soft. It would be great paired with colored denim (red or white) or a pair of dark denim and a white faux leather coat.
Hill House Nap Dress
I love Hill House Nap Dresses and this one is so easily styled for cooler weather. Pair it with a sweater or a jacket over top with boots. Or dress it up with heels, a statement pair of earrings, and a long-sleeve shirt underneath! Votes for Women sweatshirt
The 19th Amendment is just a little over 100 years old, which allowed for white women to vote. Black women received the right to vote in 1965 as part of the Civil Rights Act. That said, I feel strongly about celebrating votes for women, and this sweatshirt is next up to add to my voting rights collection!

Checking Your Voter Registration
You can check your voter registration online here. You can register to vote, check your registration status, and sign up for election notifications on that site.
If you are local to North Carolina, here are some important notes to remember as you plan your next 6 weeks!
🇺🇸: October 11 is the last day to register to vote by mail & online
🇺🇸: October 17 – November 2 in-person registration + early voting (so if you miss the October 11 deadline, you can still register to vote & vote during the early voting period)
🇺🇸: November 5: Election Day (you must have been registered by the October 11 deadline to vote — no same-day registration & voting on election day)
