Why I Power Dress to the Polls
Election Day is one of my favorite days of the year, and I firmly believe in power dressing to the polls. I pick out an election outfit every cycle, and I usually include something white as a nod to the suffragettes.
For the primaries, I wore a locally made jacket with Frida Kahlo on the fabric and a gifted pair of earrings by local artist, Kathleen of Bold Standard, with the words “Created Equal” in Abraham Lincoln’s handwriting. In 2021, I voted by mail, so I wore my Inauguration Day look to celebrate with friends (pictured above).

North Carolina 2026 Voting Dates
Here are the key dates for the November 2026 general election in North Carolina:
🇺🇸 Friday, October 9 (5 p.m.): Last day to register to vote online or by mail.
🇺🇸 October 15–31: Early voting. If you miss the October 9 deadline, you can still register and vote at the same time during early voting. Bring your photo ID. If you’re registering the same day, bring proof of your current NC residence, too.
🇺🇸 Tuesday, November 3: Election Day.
