For DG’s birthday this year, he decided he wanted to head to Charlotte for the Buffalo Bills v. Carolina Panthers game. Since the game was early on a Sunday, we headed down to Charlotte on Saturday afternoon to explore the city a little bit. We stayed at the gorgeous Le Méridien Hotel in uptown Charlotte. The location was great for being able to get to the stadium on Sunday, but also to meet up with friends at various locations on Saturday night. The mix of European and Southern design elements create such an interesting and unique experience unilke anything I have experienced in a hotel!
Amenities
One of my favorite parts of the Le Méridien Charlotte are the lounge spaces throughout the downstairs. There were spaces with televisions that were playing college football games, quieter areas for reading local books in a library type setting, and eating areas outside of EVOkE dining space in the Le Méridien.
There is a great fitness center on site, in addition to indoor and outdoor pools. I cannot wait to get back to the hotel in the future when we have more time to relax poolside. My personal favorite touch is that pets are welcome. While we were staying at the Le Méridien, there were quite a few pets. The hotel took in displaced people from Hurricane Irma and welcomed their pets with open arms, which is something DG and I really appreciated about the hotel. If you are visiting Charlotte for the first time, use the guest experience experts for recommendations as well!
Accommodations
Our room had such a great view of the city and the most comfortable bed ever. I loved the sleek decor that stemmed from the lobby areas all the way up to the hotel rooms. I am a fan of Malin & Goetz toiletries that the hotel offers to guests. The rooms are upscale and beautifully stylish, and we really enjoyed our little getaway.
Stay tuned as I’ll be featuring the amazing EVOkE restaurant and City Lights Rooftop Bar, both located in Le Méridien, next week on I’m Fixin’ To.
