On Monday, I shared four recipes perfect for National Tailgate Weekend, coming up on October 7 & 8. But while food is important at tailgates, dressing for the tailgates is equally important, especially in the South. Showing up to a tailgate in your team’s colors is a must, but really, in the South, it’s a social event. Here are some of my favorite tailgating looks for the season.
Warmer Tailgate Outfits
Purple, White, & Gold
This outfit is perfect for the warmer tailgates. It’s still smoldering right now in the South, with temperatures pushing the 90s. This outfit is functional, comfortable, but also in my alma mater’s colors. And I love this gold AnchorBeads necklace.
Neutral Midi Dress
I am a huge fan of midi dresses in general, but a neutral midi dress when accessories can be changed out is always a good idea. Depending on the stadium’s rules, you may not be able to carry a larger bag, so a clutch is a nice option.
Cooler Weather Outfits
Cowlneck Dress & Fleece Tights
This dress is perfect without tights, but for cooler days, fleece tights with booties is the way to go. These days, I’m loving statement necklaces to change up my look, so a big chunky necklace would work with this look as well.
Yellow Sweater & Purple Shirt
For night games, or games where it gets cooler quickly, layers are always a good idea. Pairing a t-shirt with interesting hemlines and a thicker sweater is perfect for late fall games.
And, here’s a bonus outfit and tip if you go to a game the Saturday after Thanksgiving… always wear leggings.
What is your favorite tailgating outfit?
Happy Friday, friends!
