Good morning and happy Friday, y’all! Â It has been a whirlwind week for me, and I think the weekend is going to be the same. Â I am working on getting ahead in grad school because the spring semester ends relatively soon, which is crazy! Â I am so excited to share my March 2018 edition of coffee talk today. Â I have quite a few things to share with you including a giveaway and some new favorite products.
I shared this article a couple of weeks ago on my social media channels, but it is a great read about Kinston, NC and its basketball program at Kinston High. Â When I was in high school, our boys’ basketball team faced Kinston in a play-off game and it was a packed house. Â I attended the Rural Assembly by the NC Rural Center in November where Vivian Howard posed a suggestion about creating more buzz around the storied program at Kinston High, and I could not agree more. Â As a public-school enthusiast, I always look for ways to encourage engagement both in and out of the classrooms and to built relationships across the community, and this seems like a great way to start that collaboration.
After some soul-searching about next steps with my blog and its content, I’ve also been thinking a lot about using RewardStyle. Â Blogger friends, I used ShopStyle for quite a while before getting accepted to RewardStyle, and I think I am going to transition back. Â Check out Cathy’s post here.
This article is completely hitting on one of my grad school courses this semester and I am loving it. Â I am in a geography course about rural development and how important it is to bring women to the table in communities for better economic growth.
I had the best time visiting with my friends at Tanger Outlets in Mebane. Â The spring preview event was absolutely amazing and I picked up some great items. Â I can’t wait to show you how I styled this dress, shirt, hat, and bag (similar and love this one). Â I got DGÂ these, too. Â P.S. There is still time to enter the giveaway for $100 to Tanger Outlets by texting STYLE4 to 55695. Â Winner will be announced tomorrow!
Y’all, I am completely obsessed with Rifle Paper Co, which is not new. Â But these shoes? Â This United States print? Â This market pad? Â All the heart-eye emojis.
When DG and I went to Nashville, we went to the Grand Ole Opry one night to hear Old Crow Medicine Show. Â But maybe our favorite part was getting to hear Devin Dawson play “All on Me.” Â We’ve been listening to his Pandora station for a while now, and now we hear him on the radio in Raleigh, and we are super pumped for him.
After those strings of 70 and 80 degree days in Raleigh in February, it was in the 20s and snowed on Monday. Â While I appreciated the snow, Winston and I are having major issues with head colds now. Â I have been pounding sick teas to try to prevent any further sickness.
I had the great honor of attending my second Feed the Dialogue NC event in eastern North Carolina. Â I have long featuring areas of Eastern North Carolina on I’m Fixin’ To, but this farm tour was definitely enlightening. Â We toured two different farms, had lunch from Vivian Howard‘s food truck, and toured a feed mill. Â I also conquered my fear of heights by climbing down the side of the feed mill. Â I’m pretty sure I just got my coloring back. Â But it was such a great experience and I really enjoyed learning more about the livelihood of those in my region. Â Here is a great video on what consumers should know about their farmers. Â Special thanks to NC Pork Council and NC Farm Bureau Insurance for sponsoring the experience.

P.S. Did you check out this week’s posts? Â Here’s a travel guide for Hillsborough, NC and some of my favorite gray tops for weekend wear.
I’m sorry you’ve been sick. I’ve been sick lately too. I hope you feel better soon.
I hope you are feeling better, too! xx
Girl, seriously. This NC weather has my body like WTF?
I mean, I’m saying! Even now, it’s crazy! It’s 30 degrees but will be 80 next week?
