As I say every month, I cannot believe it’s midway through and we’re having our monthly coffee talk. I am so excited to share a few ramblings with you this month. There are a lot of moving parts in my life right now in terms of my career, and it is times like this that I am grateful for this outlet to be able to decompress while sharing experiences and thoughts. Here are is the April 2018 edition of coffee talk.
I read Emily Ley’s Grace Not Perfection book while in Blowing Rock and it was truly perfect timing for me. There were so many parts that I found myself nodding through or just taking a deep breath because it felt so good to know that I am not alone in some of the feelings I have been having. If you haven’t read it yet, I highly recommend it!
Currently, I am craving Lavender Lemonade from Thanks a Latte on repeat. I’m also loving this candle for our living room right now. Also, here are some of my favorite coffee table books: The Southerner’s Cookbook, Kate Spade Places to Go, People to Be, Tory Burch In Color, and India Hicks Island Style.
I am SO excited that Southern Charm Season 5 is back. It is truly my guilty pleasure, but I delight in Cameran’s wittiness. If you don’t follow her on Instagram, you are missing out.
Have you seen the Opalhouse Collection at Target? Y’all, it is SO good. It is great quality for even better prices. Here are some of my favorite items:
Looking for a fun place to stay in Blowing Rock? Check out our stay at the New Public House and Hotel! We loved it so much and can’t wait to get back this fall.
J. Jill‘s new April collection is absolutely perfect for transitioning to spring. It’s still been rather chilly here, so I have loved pairing this tops with different pant options for work and weekend wear. Here is a sneak peek at some of my favorite pieces from the collection.

If you’ve been here a while, you may have seen my desire to support women owned businesses and my interest in empowering women leaders and making sure that they have a seat at the table for making community decisions. Last week, I received an email from Milk Street Baby, which is a woman-owned company that designs furniture for nurseries. So many of my friends are pregnant, and I have shared this brand with them for their registry because I love what they stand for and their furniture is gorgeous! Those of you local to Raleigh, there is an event at Tots to Teens in Raleigh on April 28 with Milk Street Baby. I’ll be there showing some of my favorites for moms-to-be and also introducing you to Julie, who is one of my new favorite people, and who is behind the designs at Milk Street!
Remember when I went to Tanger Outlets in Mebane for the Spring preview? I have been so glad to see the warm weather this week so I could start wearing some of my finds from the event. I wanted to share these few pictures because y’all, I just really love the folks at Tanger Mebane. They are the sweetest, most fun, encouraging people I’ve worked with! Be sure to stop by Tanger Outlets in Mebane for your own shopping event!
And what better way to the start the weekend than with a giveaway!
