Weekending: Last One as a Single Lady
Hey y’all! I hope you had a good weekend. I enjoyed my last weekend as a single lady with my best friend, my parents, celebrating baby Mac, and my pup Winston. Here’s my forewarning, this post will be a little long.
Friday, I really watched what I ate. Have any of y’all Southern ladies ever eaten at PDQ? It’s another fastfood chicken place, but it is GOOD. They have a ton of dipping sauces to choose from, and my favorite is definitely their buffalo bleu. And y’all, those fries… they were worth it.
I also got my Influenster #VowVoxBox. I’ll post more details on my products later.
I now feel comfortable to post about this as well. You may remember back in April, I posted that my childhood best friend/matron of honor announced that she was pregnant. Last Saturday, she called to tell me that she was being induced at 5 months because she had lost the baby. She was in labor for 3 days and Christian Michael was born on June 16. Words can’t describe how I felt for her loss. She has gone through so much in her life and I felt a lot of anger. She sent me a picture of the hand and foot prints they took at the hospital. I went and saw her Friday and in her given state, she was doing as well as I could hope. I appreciate all your positive thoughts and prayers during the time. She kept telling me she had felt them all and she was so grateful to people who didn’t even know her for the thoughts and caring.
Saturday, I went to my parents house. I woke up and went for a run in their quiet little town (remember this?). I love this view of that farm to start my run out.
My mom had to go get her dress for the wedding from Raleigh, so it was just my dad and me. We went and had breakfast together and we sat with his high school teacher. I loved talking to her about teaching. She taught for over 30 years, but we discussed our mentalities of teaching, and she and I definitely have the same teaching style.
I then got ready and headed out to my friend Hillary’s baby shower. Hillary is due in August and I can’t wait to meet baby Mac.
I also got to see my grandmother and show her my bridal portrait.
Saturday night when I got back to the ‘burbs, DG and I ran out to dinner. We went to Aviator for dinner again because DG is borderline addicted to their macaroni and cheese bites.
Sunday, I had a partner join me in my Tone It Up workouts.
I also finished the most tedious and daunting task of the wedding planning… doing the calligraphy on the escort cards. Y’all, I sat down with Hart of Dixie Netflix marathon and got to work.
I spent the rest of the day getting things organized and ready for next weekend.
How was your weekend? Don’t forget to link up with B and me!
So sorry for her loss, heartbreaking. What a great view for your run. Those Mac bites look so good.
So, so, so sorry for her loss. I'll be praying for her and her family.

Hey there! New reader and fellow southern lady here linking up for the first time! How exciting getting ready for your wedding, enjoy every moment of this week:) Prayers to your friend, I can't imagine her loss…
So close! Did you teach yourself calligraphy??! I am debating on what to do for mine!
I've been thinking of your friend, sending lots and lots of prayers! Those mac n cheese bites look amaaazing. So glad you had a fabulous last single lady weekend 🙂
Sadly, I LOVE PDQ, too. One opened in Fayetteville about five months ago and it was love at first bite.
So sorry to hear about your friend. I cannot imagine the pain she and her husband are left with concerning their sweet boy. I'll be praying for peace and comfort!
Enjoy this week!!
That is so sad about your friend. My heart aches for her I cant even imagine how hard that was to go through. Hope you have a great week and wedding!
Avaitor has some really amazing food! And I'm sorry to hear about your friend- I hate that things like that happen to such innocent people.
Glad you had a great last weekend as a single lady!! xo
Happy Wedding Week pretty lady! Can't wait to read all about it!
I am so heartbroken for your friend. What a terrible loss.
Many thoughts and prayers for your friend — I can't imagine the hurt that she is going through.
Glad you had a great weekend! xo
What a terrible time for your friend to go through. I can't imagine. A close family friend went through something very simliar but she was 9months along. No matter how far along you are, its awful. So sorry.
Mac and cheese bites look so good…. i've never had them! how do you like hart of dixie? I'm watching drop dead diva now but almost done with the series and was thinking of starting hart of dixie (because rachel bilson is so cute)
Mac and cheese bites! I haven't had those in so long I forgot about them. They are soo good though. Love me some Hart of Dixie too 🙂 I avoided the escort cards for my wedding – it was too much and too tedious! Hope this week goes smoothly for you!
Also you have captia on. Don't know if you know that…
Hope your week goes, well, can't wait for wedding pics!
Oh my word, Meghan… I am so, so, so sorry for your friend. I can't even imagine how she must be feeling right now. I will be praying for her and her family.
Can't wait to hear about your voxbox! You'll have so much fun next weekend!

What a week – Can't wait to see you in three days!!!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your friend's son – that is utterly heartbreaking. One of my best friends lost twin boys around 5 months and it was gut wrenching to see her go through it – I'm glad she has a great friend like you to be there for her during this!! xx
