There is the whole culture in blogging about the difference between a blogger and an influencer. My perspective on this is that anyone who has an opinion (aka… everyone) is an influencer, which is why social media presence is so important. I’ll save that soapbox for a different day, but it’s essential to remember how people are influenced and why we should be authentic with reviews. Today, I wanted to share 7 recently influenced purchases with my perspective of those products.
7 Recent Purchases
Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3:
I am all about a product that I can use for my self-care Sunday routine and I have been trying to keep my hair on its recent healthier trend. My hair stylist, Katy, mentioned this as a favorite product on her Instagram and my friend, Lindsey, commented that it was a go-to product for her. With both of their perspectives on this product being positive, I decided to try it out. I use it every Sunday, and some days, I even put it on earlier in the day and wear it until I do my routine in the evening. 10/10 recommend.
BECCA Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer:
I have two influencers I look to for makeup recommendations, Lindsey (different than the one mentioned above) and Hannah. Lindsey raves about this under eye primer and I am always on the look out for something to help with the bags under my eyes. This primer is one of my favorite new products in my skin care routine, and honestly, makes it fun for me to apply make up now. The caffeine gives a great sensation and the color helps offset the darkness of my under eyes in the morning. Check out my Instastories this week, this product is my April giveaway item! 10/10 recommend.
Red Dress Boutique Statement Earrings:
My style flows between loving a good statement necklace to loving a good pair of statement earrings. When looking for statement earrings, I need something that is lighter weight because of a tear in my earlobe. Shelby posted a smaller pair of earrings similar to these, but had this version linked, so I decided to give them a whirl. They are super light and definitely make a statement. I like them to dress up a simple top or dress and will be wearing them more in the spring and summer. 8/10 recommend (only because I wish they were a tad smaller to wear with more).
Amazon Fashion Polka Dot Skirt:
I saw this skirt on lots of influencers Instagram feeds, but I particularly loved the way that Meghan styled it with a chambray top. My issue with Amazon Fashion is that it says its Prime shipping, which I equate to returns as well, but some of the products are available to return unless there is a significant problem. While there isn’t anything wrong with this skirt, the waistband fits a little weird. I will definitely wear it to work with a chambray shirt and low heels, but the quality isn’t my favorite. 5/10 recommend.
Amazon Fashion One Piece Bathing Suit:
I have a real issue with paying big dollars for bathing suits. For one reason, I don’t wear them enough. We don’t have a pool in our neighborhood, I work in the summer now, and when I do wear a suit, it’s usually at the beach and I can be rough on my suits. So, I opt for either suits that are on sale from J. Crew or cheaper versions from Target. I saw this suit on Danielle‘s Instagram and decided to give it a shot for some upcoming beach plans I have in May. While I’ve only tried it on, I am pleased with the quality for the price. Stay tuned for how it holds up. 10/10 recommend.
J. Crew Factory Block Heel Sandals:
Jen posted about these shoes when they were on sale at J. Crew Factory and I decided to pick up two different versions. I generally have great luck with J. Crew Factory shoes and I also was in the market for a low heel I could wear to work. I am 5’8″ and I generally like a lower heel anyway. I got these in and have already worn the gold version. They are comfortable and the heel is the perfect height. I’ll definitely be wearing these with jeans on weekends as well. Just be sure to break them in before wearing them… I failed to do that and am paying the price. 10/10 recommend.
Amazon Fashion Button Down Jumpsuit:
I wanted to love this jumpsuit so bad. I loved the buttons and the wide leg and could picture wearing it on weekends with the block heels above and adding a denim jacket on cooler nights. I even had it ready to go for Baltimore to wear during the daytime exploring the city. And then, I put it on and it was completely see-through. I saw it originally over on Danielle’s Instagram and loved the possibilities, but was sadly disappointed. I don’t know if I ordered from a different vendor than she did or if she found the right undergarments to wear with this to make it work. Regardless, this is another one that I can’t return, so I plan on using as a bathing suit cover up for the summer. 3/10 recommend (would be 1/10 but am going to utilize it for the summer as a cover up so I’ll be generous this time).
