Earlier this month, David and I traveled to Baltimore for a little weekend getaway. It was our first time in the Charm City and we had a great time exploring the city. One of our favorite parts of the trip was our stay at the Kimpton Monaco Baltimore, the perfect hotel in the inner harbor. It was walking distance to many of the places we visited and a short Lyft ride away for other parts of the city.
KIMPTON MONACO HOTEL IN BALTIMORE
Y’all know that I love a good, historic hotel and the Kimpton Monaco was full of beauty, charm, and history. The Kimpton Monaco Baltimore is an exquisitely restored building that was once the B&O Railroad Headquarters. The building dates back to the 1906, and the grandeur of the time period is on full display from the minute we walked in. The stairs in the entryway are preserved by the National Park Service and the Maryland Historic Trust and are a functioning monument. I was thrilled to learn more about the history of the B&O Railroad and the significance it played throughout US History. The hotel is thoughtfully preserved and a true pleasure to experience.

Kimpton hotels are some of my favorite hotels because of their outstanding hospitality and service, click here to read about our stay at the Kimpton Glover Park in Washington DC and here to read about our stay at the Kimpton Ink48 in NYC. Each morning, they offer a coffee and tea service in the main lobby, a nightly wine hour from 5:00-6:00PM, and their public bikes for getting around town. I also love that every room comes with a yoga mat and there is complimentary Wi-Fi if you are a member of IHG Rewards. They also have a 24-hour fitness center and business center available as well. We arrived a little after wine hour ended on Friday evening and as we were checking in, they offered us a glass of wine and made a point of letting us know about the nightly wine hours and to welcome us the next night. Also, Kimpton hotels are pet friendly, and we love greeting all the doggies in the lobby.

We stayed in the Luxury Spa Suite City View and it was a dream. The views of the city were perfect from our suite and we loved how spacious the suite was for our getaway. There was an amazing jacuzzi tub that came with bath salts, which was perfect for soaking in after walking 13 miles in one day. A sweet touch was a night light in the living room space that was of a train on the train tracks, with another nod to the B&O Railroad.

On our last morning, we brunched at B&O American Brasserie on the first floor of the hotel. David ordered pancakes while I ordered a breakfast sandwich and subbed the scrapple for bacon. It’s a bright, airy space and the food was delicious.

We truly enjoyed our time at Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore and cannot recommend a stay here enough. I’ll be sharing more about our trip and our itinerary. We fell in love with the city and the charm of the hotel and are planning a return trip.

Thank you to Kimpton Hotel Monaco Baltimore and B&O American Brasserie for hosting us. As always, all opinions are my own.Â
