To say that 2020 has been a doozy of a year may be the biggest understatement of the year, amirite?! However, despite the turbulence of this year, I am appreciative of the opportunity to slow down, be present, and enjoy the little things in life. I’ve been blogging for over 10 years now, and have been sharing an annual “My Favorite Things” post for the past four years, yet somehow this one feels different for me. This year’s 2020 Favorites post features some of the items that have helped make 2020 more manageable, so I’m excited for this post and for this year’s corresponding giveaway. See previous annual favorite posts here.
Here are 14 little unexpected ways I’ve found joy during quarantine in 2020.
20 of my 2020 Favorites
Nécessaire The Body Wash in Eucalyptus: I started using this body wash and it is so luxurious.
LuvScrub Mesh Body Exfoliator: This is one of my favorite beauty products and it pairs so lovely with the Nécessaire Body Wash.
Votes for Women Ornament: This Votes for Women ornament has been a favorite for me. Stay tuned for our holiday home tour and where I’ve hung this in honor this year!
In Common Magic Myst: My girl, Katy J. Baugh, introduced me to this and wow wow wow does it live up to its hype! It’s a leave-in detangler plus an enhancer that strengthens and restores your hair to its unique balance. A little bit goes a long way, too!
Benefit Roller Lash Curling & Lifting Mascara: In 2020, I haven’t been wearing much make-up other than a little bit of my favorite curling and lifting mascara. I’ve tried a lot of mascaras and this is still my favorite.
Michelle McDowell Earrings: I am a huge fan of Michelle McDowell earrings and these Anniston ones are pure beauty.
Poppy Popcorn: Poppy Popcorn is made in Asheville and the pimento cheese is my favorite year-round. And during the holiday season, I crave the Reindeer mix!
Twine & Twig Necklace: David and I both have been wanting to visit Twine & Twig and this Yellowstone necklace is holding me over until we can make our visit.
IGK Beach Club Gel: I am a huge fan of IGK products and this Beach Club gel is a great, lightweight blowout cream and heat protectant to create volume and body. Katy introduced me to the Beach Club volume texture spray a year ago, and now this gel has been a favorite during this time at home. I’ve stopped using so much hair
Cultivate Coffee Subscription: I adore coffee and have never been more appreciative of my Cultivate Coffee Subscription!
Personalized Bracelets: I adore the personalized bracelet trends I had two sets made: one that said “Vote” and “Dissent” and another set that says “Winston” and “Gizmo.”
J. Crew Fleece Joggers: Joggers have become more of a favorite in my wardrobe this year, and these fleece joggers are a bonus for cooler weather!
Capri Blue Candles: I adore the iconic Volcano fragrance and during the holidays, I love the Fir and Firewood fragrance. This year, we started using the Hearthside fragrance for fall and winter as well.
The Wine Feed Subscription: I love the Wine Feed and have really enjoyed the Wine Wagon deliveries and the Relax Subscription. If you’re local to Raleigh or Durham, I highly recommend!
Nevertheless She Wore It: This book, featuring 50 iconic fashion moments has been such a lovely read during this time especially.
Brooklinen Bedding Bundle: David and I upgraded to Brooklinen Sheets and a duvet cover early in the spring and it was the best decision. We ordered the graphite sheets and the window pane duvet cover.
Slip Silk Face Mask: My Slip Silk Face Mask has been a favorite to wear for extended periods of time. It’s light on my skin and nice to wear at work when I need to talk without sounding muffled.
Boards & Bites: My friend, Kayte, launched her business in 2020 featuring to-go cheese boards, which is ideal for outdoor picnics. I also took one of these on a trip to the western NC wineries and it was a great addition to our tastings!
Tile Stickers: David and I have lived in our ranch now for 3 years and this was the year when we finally gave our guest bath a little face lift. These tile stickers were an affordable option for updating our space.
Leopard Print Top: This top has been a favorite both pre-quarantine and for working from home.

My favorite thing from 2019 was…Corona not being a part of it! Looking forward to hopefully getting back to some type of normalcy in 2021

I really enjoy your blog. I especially love your travel guides to small North Carolina towns!
Love Roller girl maScara!
Mine was not being scared to go out of the house! This year has been horrible. I have a 6 year old who missed his first real year of school.

My favorite thing about 2019 was going out to brunch in the summer! I truly hope that will be back on the table in 2021!
