Here we are in the last full week of October and am truly in disbelief that the holiday season is about to get into full swing! September was a whirlwind and I honestly got behind on writing and reading. That said, I purchased an Asheville-based gin that is a great way to support this local business post-Tropical Storm Helene. I also am so excited about our new Christmas tree for the holiday season and I found a fall candle that is the most perfect fragrance for the season. Scroll below for the 5 things I tried & loved in September 2024.

Hotel Lobby Candle Napa Valley

Over the past couple of years, my scent preferences have changed, especially when it comes to the fall fragrances. When I saw my beloved Hotel Lobby Candles was coming out with a new fragrance, I was intrigued, especially because the notes seemed to lean into a fall fragrance family. Let me tell you — Napa Valley will be my new go-to fall candle for years to come. I also burn Hotel Lobby Candle Aspen, which is nice and warm and carries nicely into the holidays.
Chemist Conservatory Rose Gin in Collaboration with Biltmore Winery

I visited Chemist Spirit’s Prohibition-inspired cocktail lounge, Antidote, and fell in love with this rose gin. So much so that I kept thinking about it, so I ordered some. Little did I know that Tropical Storm Helene would ravage my beloved western North Carolina the way it did, and Chemist Spirits was directly impacted. Purchasing Chemist spirits online is a great way to help support. For more specific ways of helping, check out this page.
King of Christmas 6′ Noble Fir

I am so excited about the upcoming holiday season and cannot wait to bring out this King of Christmas 6′ Noble Fir tree for our home decor. Here are some other picks from King of Christmas, and right now, there are some great sales on their site making it a great time to purchase. Their products are of outstanding quality and I cannot get over their customer service that comes with a 2-year limited warranty.
J.Crew Berkeley Suede & Leather Shoulder Bag

This shoulder bag is such a timeless classic for fall and winter and fits perfectly under your shoulder. The bag that I have has a gold chain for a handle, but it sold out quickly. This one is the same style, just with a different handle, and perhaps more appropriate for everyday use depending on your style preferences. It comes in three colors and the buckle is magnetic, which I prefer to a snap. Order soon! It is on backorder and current production times are December 1– so if you want to order for a holiday gift, that is worth keeping in mind.
Furbish Studio Table Runner

I love Furbish Studio for its eclectic home decor picks. So for fall, I added this cute table runner in Eugenie for our dining room table. It is currently on sale for under $30 and comes with an additional 20% off with code SOMUCHSALE. The runner comes in several different patterns and color schemes and is the perfect way to brighten up a space. If you have not taken a peruse through Furbish’s online shop, be sure to check out their holiday drop and needlepoint pillows. I get many of my ornaments from here each year and love the selection of holiday hostess gifts.
