A few weekends ago, David and I headed to Charleston for a little getaway for an early birthday celebration. Charleston is one of my favorite cities and I was thrilled to call Hotel Emeline our home for the weekend. I had seen Hotel Emeline on my social media feed and when we decided to take a little trip, I knew this would be the perfect spot to stay, especially during the cooler months. I mean, that outdoor fire place and heated patio is a whole mood. Here is a look at our weekend getaway at the Hotel Emeline in Charleston!
Weekend Getaway: Hotel Emeline in Charleston, a Review
While I have enjoyed every trip and stay I’ve had in Charleston, I must say that the aesthetics at Hotel Emeline are perhaps my favorite. The entrance includes a beautiful sitting area, dubbed the living room, with gorgeous features and comfortable seating. Each floor has a “Nook,” which offers complimentary sparkling and still water, fresh fruit, and periodicals, plus there are reading materials throughout the hotel. It’s just a stunning, welcoming experience and I’ve been daydreaming about our next trip back ever since we checked out.
Hotel Emeline – Accommodations

We stayed in one of the Collector’s Suites and it was absolutely fabulous! The velvet and rattan details made for a modern, upscale feel yet it was the perfect space for relaxing. Each suite comes with Crosley turntable with a custom vinyl and our room included additional records from Marvin Gaye and Amy Winehouse. The rooms also came with a glass bottle to use for the water stations in the Nook on each floor. Ours was always full with sparkling water! Rooms also include custom ceramic vanity accessories by local Charleston artist, Susan Gregory. The plush sofa and dining table made for a cozy space for us throughout the weekend.
There are custom plush spa robes that are the coziest hotel robes I’ve had the pleasure of using, plus the soft linens and towels in the room. The signature Emeline scent is Amber Wood Red Flower and were great toiletries to have access to throughout the weekend. Also, let’s all have a moment for that shower and bath tub. And there are handheld steamers for each room, which I always appreciate versus an iron.

Emeline Hotel Review: Amenities and Location
This was my first trip to Charleston in the winter, and we had a beautiful, sunny weekend and were able to walk most everywhere we went. Hotel Emeline is in the best spot for getting around. It is located right next to the Historic Charleston Market, so we took a Saturday morning stroll through. After walking around for most of the afternoon, we decided to reserve one of the Emeline Countryman Mini Cooper house cars to take a drive around. There are also custom Emeline bike, and both the Mini Coopers and bikes can be reserved in 4 hour increments.
I’ve mentioned the Nook on each floor with the sparkling and still water, fresh fruit, and periodicals. I thought this was perhaps one of my favorite touches of the entire hotel.

I also appreciated all of the seating areas and reading materials throughout the hotel. The second floor of the hotel overlooking the entrance is known as the “Archives,” and I enjoyed a morning cup of coffee here. The Keep Shop on the first floor has such unique pieces, including the Hotel Emeline custom vinyl, which we bought to carry home with us. There is also an outdoor patio with a fireplace and a greenhouse. Part of the patio, including the greenhouse, is available for private event space, while the other half is available for guests of the hotel and the restaurants. The outdoor fireplace is the split, which is such a cozy spot to curl up on a chilly evening.

Emeline Hotel: Where to Eat & Drink
Clerks Coffee Company
Clerks Coffee Company is located right in the hotel entrance and is open early and stays open late, serving anything from local brews, unique cocktails, and soft-serve ice cream. We stopped here for breakfast before heading out on to explore on Saturday morning. I ordered the lavender latte and the breakfast pocket, which is bacon, egg, and cheese in a pastry. David got a sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and a drip coffee. Next trip, we’ll definitely try out the cocktails and soft serve!

Frannie & the Fox
Frannie & the Fox serves breakfast, brunch on the weekends, and dinner. It’s a wood-fired restaurant and quite delicious and aesthetically pleasing. During warmer days and evenings, the doors open directly on to the patio. We dined here both for dinner Friday night and brunch on Sunday before heading out of town.

For dinner, David and I shared the beef & pork meatballs with whipped ricotta. We each ordered a wood-fired pizza and I received several messages from followers on Instagram about the one I ordered. David got a pepperoni pizza, which was delicious. I ordered the Taleggio, which is a white pizza served with burnt honey and black pepper, and honestly, it will live rent free in my head for a while. The consensus from my Instagram followers is very much the same! It’s a must-order for sure!

After dinner, we headed out to the patio to enjoy a drink and I could have spent my entire weekend hanging out on the patio. It’s really a comfortable, relaxing spot and is one of the best parts of the hotel!

We had brunch here on Sunday before heading out. David ordered the two egg breakfast with sausage and I ordered a brunch sandwich. Whatever you do, if you have brunch here, get the crispy potatoes. They’re a delight!

When planning your next trip to Charleston, look no further than booking at Hotel Emeline! It has so much to offer and is such a gem in this charming city!
