For 2021, I decided to take a further step in my journey to a healthier me by incorporating more greens into my day. While David and I strive to be conscious with our food choices, I typically skip breakfast. I noticed this even more during quarantine over the past year that I would wait and eat a late lunch without much in my stomach besides black coffee.
When I went to Greenville in January to visit my friends, Hillary’s husband made us breakfast smoothies and I realized that this was something simple I could make in advance and would be a good compromise for my normal routine. After a month and some change, this simple everyday green smoothie recipe has been my go-to. I make some occasional changes to it to keep it interesting, but I have really been pleased with incorporating this into my daily routine. I’ve noticed a change in my skin and hair as a result, and I am feeling great, too! Keep scrolling for the recipe.
Simple Everyday Green Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients
- Handful of Baby Spinach
- Handful of Frozen Fruit (I like a mix of blueberries, mango, and strawberries)
- 1/2 cup Milk Alternative (I use either unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk or Oat Milk)
- 1/2 cup plain Greek Yogurt
- 2 scoops of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptide
- 1 teaspoon Chia Seeds
Additional Options: Sometimes I add almond butter or honey to switch things up a bit.
Directions
Add it all in to a blender and mix it all together. Pour in a glass and enjoy! One of my favorite things about this is I can make it the night before and I’ll let it sit in the fridge overnight.
Our blender does just fine, though I’ve had my eye on this one if I keep this up. I use this Yeti mug and straw to keep it chilled, which makes it convenient for driving to the office.
