Seabird is the hottest, new restaurant in Wilmington, NC and it is one of the best meals that I’ve had this year! Â It’s a beautifully designed space in historic downtown Wilmington and Chef Dean Neff has created a menu that is the perfect mix of oysters, unique Southern favorites, and delicious seafood bites. While it boasts a delicious dinner menu, it also offers an extensive coffee and breakfast menu if you’re downtown or stopping through on your way to Wrightsville. I’ll definitely be trying the herb & honey latte and grits & roasted potato bowl on my next trip! Â Keep scrolling to see more from our experience at Seabird Wilmington NC.
A Review of Seabird in Wilmington NC

The space is absolutely beautiful, with the electric blue details, stunning light fixtures, and that crisp white subway tile. Seabird also gets lovely afternoon sunlight and excellent people watching windows! We arrived for an early supper and we were able to have the space mostly to ourselves for a short time. Then, when the dinner crowd came in, the restaurant had amazing energy!

Glory and I thoroughly enjoyed perusing the menu at Seabird with a happy hour cocktail and cornbread. We decided to start off with the broiled hollandaise baked oysters and wow, were they delicious! The chef also sent out the BBQ baked oysters and Rockefeller oysters, which were equally delightful.

Our next round of plates included the catfish pups and fried spring onion and the chicken lettuce wraps. The fried catfish pups also came with fried b&b pickles and a comeback sauce. I had never tried a fried spring onion before this meal and it is shockingly good! Also, those lettuce wraps with radishes were outstanding!

For our main course, we split the soft shell crab which is served with plankton spaghetti, sweet corn, cherry tomatoes, basil, and a garlic leek emulsion. Soft shell crab is one of my all-time favorite dishes and this one affirms why I love it!

We finished our meal with the chocolate budino and the house ice cream. The chocolate budino includes blueberries and popped sorghum, which is a really nice touch!

If you’re in the Port City, this is a perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely supper! The service is exceptional and you’ll feel right at home!
