This past weekend, David and I headed up to Asheville to experience the holiday season in the NC mountains. My parents came with us and we stayed at the Graham House right in West Asheville. The city was absolutely beautiful decorated for the city and despite the dreary, rainy weather, we had a fantastic time exploring. We met up with some friends who are local to help show us around and had the perfect winter weekend in Asheville at the Graham House.

Asheville is one of our favorite cities in North Carolina and I always leave wishing we had more time to explore. Here are the details from our trip on where to stay and what to do while visiting. You can see previous trips to the city here and here.
Where to Stay for the Perfect Winter Weekend in Asheville
I found the Graham House on Instagram and have been a big fan of Gabby’s interior design. I love the kitchen door, the open, bright spaces, and the egg chair in the living room. The Graham House comes with a variety of coffee and tea, bed linens, towels, and great WiFi. I am already trying to figure out a time when we can go back and visit and spend more time on the screened in porch.

What to Do for the Perfect Winter Weekend in Asheville
We left after work on Friday, and arrived in town for a late dinner. Thanks to Gabby’s recommendations in the Graham House information, we decided to go to Haywood Common in West Asheville. We ordered Tater Tot Potatas Bravas for a starter, then Mom, David, and I all had the House Burger while Dad ordered the Chicken & Waffles.

Saturday, we knew we wanted to do some shopping downtown before checking out the Gingerbread House Competition at the Grove Park Inn. We woke up and went to an early lunch at White Duck Taco Shop. I ordered a buffalo chicken and a pork belly taco.
After lunch, we shopped around downtown, and my favorites were Ten Thousand Villages, where I picked up this little RBG key chain, and the shops in Grove Arcade.
The Grove Park Inn is absolutely spectacular during the holiday season. I highly recommend going to see the Gingerbread House Competition while trying one of the signature hot chocolates (bonus points with Bailey’s).

Our last stop was dinner at Buxton Hall BBQ. We ate there our last trip, and It was a favorite of all of ours, so we were excited to get back. You’ve seen me talk about Buxton Hall BBQ before here.
