This weekend was a cold, rainy one and I was so happy to not have a ton of plans. I am coming up on a little vacation from work, and so I was really relieved to be home and able to work on grad school assignments, clean the house, and work on some upcoming blog posts.
Friday, I came home to find DG and his buddy had refinished barn wood we salvaged from my grandparents’ farm a few weeks ago. He is covering the chalkboard wall we acquired with our new house, so I am excited to share the finished product with you in a blog post in the coming weeks.
Saturday, I went to Oakwood Pizza Box to sample the new Organics by Red Bull line paired with pizzas by Oakwood Pizza Box and Pizzeria Mercato from Carrboro. I am not a huge Red Bull fan, but these drinks are non-caffeinated, with the exception of the Cola, and are great by themselves or paired as cocktails. On April 10, there will be an opportunity for the public to sample this line in downtown Raleigh. Learn more and RSVP here.

DG and I have been experiencing a marathon month, so we decided to do date night in downtown Raleigh at Whiskey Kitchen. I have been on an oyster kick, so I got their fried oysters while DG tried their lamb burger. It was a great time for us to sit back and catch up from the week.
Sunday, I had lunch with a friend at 18 Seaboard and loved sampling various items off the menu. Stay tuned for some fun posts in the next few weeks featuring 18 Seaboard.
After my fun lunch time experience, I came back home to finish up my work and to prepare for the week ahead. How was your weekend?
Don’t forget to link up with Biana and me and tell us all about your weekending.
