A few years ago, I stopped making resolutions and started making goals. Somehow, changing the verbage on that made things a little more attainable for me. Having this blog is a great way to hold myself accountable and to reflect. Here are my 2014 goals and 2015 goals {recap on this coming soon}. Some of my goals will be the same for this year. Others are new. But I’m trying to make a shorter list to make it more attainable.
1. Say no.
Last year, this was also my #1 goal. Spoiler alert: I didn’t do a good job with this. So, guess what. It’s my top priority again this year. I’ve already started by cutting some of my obligations and responsibilities and I can’t wait to be able to breath a little more freely in 2016.
2. Work out and eat healthier.

My mental and physical health has seriously suffered over the past year. After learning the art of saying no, this will be the next big help for me. I can’t wait to start taking care of myself again. But I refuse to completely give up cheese tots.
3. Focus on home improvement projects.

Tiling our shower, getting a new front door, and decluttering are the major focuses here.
4. Continue to grow Champagne & Suburbs.

This includes, but is not limited to, more social media growth, collaborations, and freelance writing. I’ve always enjoyed writing, and I feel sometimes my writing here is pretty surface level. I care about a lot of things I don’t feel comfortable posting about here, but I’d like to start being more active so y’all can get to know me a little better.
5. Travel to Europe. Or just travel in general.

6. Drink more water.

A few years ago, I stopped drinking soda cold turkey and lost about 6 pounds. I started drinking soda again after our wedding, and I feel more sluggish running and bloated. Beginning today, I am done with soda. Cold turkey. Again.
Do you set goals for the new year? What are yours?
These are great goals! We have some things that are pretty similar, I just wish that I had a house to to improve. That's on the goal list this year! I'm about to get mine together and post them on my blog soon. 🙂 Happy 2016!
Gosh, learning to say no can be so difficult! Great goals!
Such great goals and I know 2016 is going to be an awesome year for you! Can't wait to see what's in store!!
I need to exercise more too for sure! And we just bought a house so home improvement projects are going to rule my life in 2016!! 🙂 Happy New Year!
I've got to get back to my walking routine! I also want to start drinking more water and lay off the Diet Cokes! Happy New Year!
You're set to do big things in 2016. I love that your blog has always been so relatable and I can't wait to see where things go this year!
Drinking more water is such a good goal–it seriously makes EVERYTHING else better!
Love your goals! Especially saying no more (and maybe yes to other things) and travel!
love your goals. I need to say YES and NO–yes to more opportunities, but no to situations that aren't the best fit for me
Great goals! I love reading these and feeling more motivated! Way to go on the no soda/pop! Cheers to 2016!
So many great, achievable goals here. I hear you on saying no and just taking care of yourself (health and fitness) in general – I think I need to focus on those things this year, too. And, amen to home progress/projects! That's the story of our life right now.
Yes,Yes and Yes! Travel doesn't have to be grand or expensive, just seeing the area you live in and around through fresh eyes is great. I plan on traveling more this year. Also, I am on the more water kick too – only drinking water at work (no soda!). So far so good (its day 2 of work for the year..LOL).
I need to learn to say no more too. It has been a stressful year for me too so taking care of myself more and working out a lot more.
Don't give up cheese tots completely! They won't hurt every once and a while 🙂
