Good morning & happy Wednesday! I am doing a later weekending post this week to be able to share this year’s Father’s Day gift guide. But today, I am bringing you a recap of my week in Tampa and sharing some of my favorite places to see, things to do, and places to eat. This trip has become an annual trip for work, so you can see those recaps here and here.
DG and I have been to Tampa a few times prior to my starting to attend this work trip, so I was familiar with some things to do in town. It helps that my college best friend lives in Clearwater and one of my favorite blogger friends lives down there. So, this year, I added a few things I wanted to do this year, like making it to the Vinoy for a drink in St. Pete, having dinner with my girlfriends down there, and seeing a film in the Tampa Theatre.
I always love popping into Oxford Exchange and seeing their amazing shop.
The Tampa Marriott Waterside Hotel has one of my favorite views of the Riverwalk. This view made doing my grad school work so much better at night.
I headed down to St. Pete one night to see my college BFF and it is definitely one of my favorite parts of the area. We had dinner at Stillwaters Tavern (order the shrimp & grits) and then explored The Vinoy Hotel. A few years ago, DG and I went there and I have always loved the space.
She came to visit one night in Tampa as well. I was so thrilled to have some time with her to catch up! There is truly nothing better than QT with your best girl.
I have been wanting to visit the Tampa Theatre, so I was thrilled when I learned that they were showing the documentary, RBG, while I was in town. The documentary was amazing and the theatre was absolutely stunning.
I loved the view from work every day. I took full advantage of the gorgeous weather and my hour lunch break.
And I finished my trip with a fried grouper sandwich from the Sail.
While I was in town, I also had dinner with Amanda, her husband Mark, and their sweet boy Patrick at Roux. It has a great happy hour special for oysters. Some of my other favorite spots for dinner were Heights Public Market, which is a fun food hall, and Ulele. They were both a great walk on the riverwalk from the hotel.
Where are your favorite places in Tampa and St. Pete?
