Happy Friday! November is such a great month because it is filled with holiday cheer and time with family and friends. I’ve been holding off on completely decorating our house for Christmas, but it is tempting with how late Thanksgiving is this year and some of the traveling we’re doing in December this year. Thanks for joining me for my coffee talk for November 2019, so grab a cup and join me in this month’s chat.

You know that I love a good historic home and I am thrilled to see that Preservation NC is working to save historic buildings in North Carolina. Their new headquarters are home that were built by former enslaved people in North Carolina and their stories are fascinating. Read more here.
It was finally feeling like fall last week in Raleigh, so I wore this skirt with these Vince Camuto booties which just so happened to match my new manicure by Khameo from Nail Yeah! I love the good flakes paired with the black polish. This week, it’s been rather frigid, so I would pair this outfit with fleece lined tights and coat.
I shared our Thanksgiving menu last year, and honestly, we won’t be changing it up much this year. What’s your favorite dish at Thanksgiving? Mine is definitely sweet potato casserole!
One of my favorite spots in Raleigh is Wye Hill–it has a beautiful view of the skyline, a farm to table menu, and delicious drinks. Recently, they’ve launched new specials: half priced bottles of wine on Tuesday nights and $5 select pints and 3 types of wings on Wednesday. I recently went on Tuesday night and despite the cold, we still sat on the patio with the heaters on and Wye Hill even provided blankets. It was a lovely evening and I highly recommend!
Shop my puffer coat, scarf, beanie, and lip color.
I am so obsessed with the entire Rifle Paper Co holiday collection. I love this mug, this pillow, these measuring cups, this spatula, and this pie dish!
I’ve been trying really hard to resist the urge to decorate for Christmas, but I did start bringing out some decorations in our guest bedroom, like this duvet cover from Pottery Barn, these prints from Etsy (frames), and this cozy Pottery Barn blanket. You can see last year’s holiday home tour here.
Y’all, I finally tried Tarte Cosmetics Shape Tape concealer, and omg. I can understand what all the hype is now! It is the best concealer I’ve ever used!

David and I collect Christmas ornaments from every city we visit as a keepsake and one of my favorite parts of decorating our tree together is talking about those trips with each ornament we hang. When he updated our home office with the builtins, I really wanted to repurpose some of our old hardback books into personalized books from cities we’ve visited. I lucked up when I found this local Etsy shop! I love the penmanship, attention to detail, and the look that these bring to our office. These make great gifts, especially for the holiday season!
I absolutely adore this story about okra and how it unites the South.
