One of the things that David and I look to include in any visit to a town is to catch a baseball game. We are big baseball fans and always enjoy experiencing a new stadium whenever we get the chance! So, here are some of the baseball stadiums we have visited in North Carolina over the last 2 summers. I plan on keeping this post updated as we visit more, so be sure to bookmark this for your trip planning!
Must-Visit Baseball Stadiums in North Carolina
Down East Wood Ducks at Grainger Stadium in Kinston

Last summer, David and I took a little day trip down to Kinston to catch a Down East Wood Ducks at Grainger Stadium and we had such a great time! They serve up eastern NC barbeque at their concession stands, Mother Earth Brewing beers, and have a nice covered section + a deck area. The Down East Wood Ducks are a Single-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
Durham Bulls at Durham Bulls Athletic Park

Made even more famous thanks to the movie Bull Durham, the Durham Bulls are a staple in the Triangle. We love attending games at the beautiful Durham Bulls Athletic Park and look forward to stadium food there. There seems to be something for everyone there and be sure to stop in their shop to pick up some gear. Make an afternoon out of it and head to downtown Durham before catching a game! The Durham Bulls are a triple-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
Edenton Steamers at Historic Hicks Field

We caught an Edenton Steamers game last year and absolutely loved the historic grandstand. Hicks Field was built in 1939 as part of the WPA and the wooden grandstand is the oldest wooden grandstand of its type remaining in North Carolina! It is a collegiate summer league team and their stadium offers a great selection of local brews and surprisingly great food from their stands.
Greensboro Grasshoppers at First National Bank Field

On our most recent trip to Greensboro, we heard there was a home game, so we changed our dinner reservations to be able to cheer on the Grasshoppers. Their stadium is located downtown and has great general admission seating around it. There are several different concession stands offering everything from gyros to street tacos to BBQ and wings. We also enjoyed the selection of Greensboro-based brews available. The Greensboro Grasshoppers are a high-A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates.
Holly Springs Salamanders at Ting Park
We try to get to a Holly Springs Salamanders game at least once a summer. Our first home was in Holly Springs and we were so excited when this collegiate summer league started playing close by. They have a great selection of seats that are mostly covered and the team is always fun to watch! They offer a selection of local brews and what David swears is the best soft pretzel he has ever had!
Winston-Salem Dash at Truist Stadium

Cheering on the Dash was a last-minute change to our itinerary when we visited Winston-Salem in the spring and we thoroughly enjoyed our time! The stadium is huge and has two decks, a kid’s section, and a speakeasy that serves up cocktails on the third baseline. We were really excited to see how many former Yankees players had come through Winston-Salem on their way to the big leagues. The Winston-Salem Dash are a high-A affiliate of the Chicago White Sox.
