One of our biggest home projects recently is finally in a place where I can share the final outcome! This may be my very favorite home project we have done together, and in my opinion, we have done some great ones in our ranch. I’ve decided I’ll make this a two part post, where I’ll share the more specific details in a separate post next month once everything is fully finalized. For the immediate, here is our big reveal of our DIY closet project.
Our DIY Closet Project
Here’s the Before:
Here’s the After
I feel incredibly fortunate that my closet has a lot of space, though it was not as functional as I would have liked. For the last couple of years, I pinned ideas and David brainstormed some options before getting started. He sat down and drew out the plans and once we took everything out of the closet, he made adjustments for what was feasible with the space. Then, he got to work. He worked on this every day for about two weeks and then on the weekends throughout January.
I shared my favorite closet organizational pieces a couple of weeks ago and they have been incredibly helpful in keeping my closet functional and attractive without breaking the bank. As for design elements, I wanted to play up on the black & gold wall paper, so I added a sleek gold mirror and this mirrored chandelier. The finishing touches I added were this fluffy rug from Ruggable (the only kind we have in our house) and this gorgeous ottoman.
Who needs a she shed when you can have a closet that you never want to leave?
