I can hardly believe Thanksgiving is just a few short weeks away! This year, we are celebrating with my parents and David, and I am already looking forward to our favorite holiday traditions — watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade followed by football games, helping my mom decorate for Christmas, and, of course, a delicious meal on a Thanksgiving tablescape.

While we are not hosting this year, I still love creating a festive fall look for our dining room. I really like the contrast of dark and light tones in this setup. The small bud vases with fresh, seasonal flowers add just the right touch of charm without cluttering the table. This is also a great option to incorporate natural elements in an unexpected way with the nut and skipping on pumpkins and gourds.

For this tablescape, I kept things simple and classic with neutral tones, natural textures, and meaningful heirloom pieces. I used my great-grandmother’s bone china with gold trim (similar here), layered over neutral, embroidered placemats, and added a mix of faux and mini pumpkins for a warm, inviting feel. My red wine glasses and hobnail goblets add a little varying height and contrast in textures, and the soft glow from flicker candles makes the entire table feel cozy and welcoming. I added even more candles to our dining room since taking these photos. These flameless candles are my favorite and I picked up crystal candlestick holders from one of my local marketplaces.
