The Art Gallery & Vault at 21c Museum Hotel in Durham

One of my favorite parts of my stay (see part one here) at Durham’s 21c Museum Hotel was the art gallery and the vault. Once Nikki, Angela, Em (she’s behind the camera), and I got ready, we headed down to Counting House Restaurant in the hotel. We grabbed a glass of wine, had some girl talk, and then headed for a tour of the art gallery. I love that the tables in the bar of the Counting House have maps of Durham on the tops.

I mentioned in last week’s post that this was one of my favorite parts to my visit to Louisville, and this art gallery was just as interesting. But my favorite part of the hotel is the bank vault that has been converted into an event space. This space can be rented out for private parties and they also host monthly gatherings for the public. And how fun is the tiling on the floor of this vault?
