Dynamis Estate Wines had been on my list of places to visit in western North Carolina for quite a while and when I finally got a chance to visit, I can attest that it was even better than I expected! Dynamis Estate Wines is a beautiful venue located in Jonesville, NC, in Yadkin County right near Elkin, NC. The property is gated and includes a 2.5 drive up the mountain to get to the tasting room. NC Hidden Gem: Dynamis Estate Wines
It’s no secret that I love all things North Carolina-related, and in recent years, I have been thoroughly excited about the wine industry in the state. That being said, Dynamis Estate Wines has hands down the best wine I have ever tasted with the most wonderful tasting experience as well.
Dynamis Estate Wines – What to Know
Dynamis Estate Wines is in the hill country of North Carolina with the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains as a backdrop. The soil on the estate is ideal for the grapes thanks to the rocky soil and the climate makes for a slow ripening of the grapes. The drive up is about 2.5 miles up the mountain and is a gorgeous drive.
You will need to make reservations online for a tasting. There are two options for tasting, the Vineyard Flight or the Estate Tasting. The Vineyard Flight is a 60-minute tasting in a private, seated tasting with 5 current wines that you can explore at your own pace. Cost is $45 a person. The Estate Tasting is a 90-minute experience guided by one of the lovely, knowledgeable Dynamis ambassadors. This is also a private, seated tasting with 5 current wines. One of my favorite parts of the tasting lodge is how spread out the seating is and how cozy and comfortable everything is in the space. There are a variety of seating options, each well-appointed. The property is smoke-free, child-free, and pet-free, making it a quiet, relaxing environment.
Dynamis Estate Wines – What to Drink
During our tasting, we sampled the Sauvignon Blanc, Rosé, Alpha, Omega, and Mountain. The Sauvignon Blanc presents aromatics of tea olive, apricot, and peach. The palate opens with creamy lemon curd and transitions to fresh honeydew melon and stone fruit, finishing crisp and clean.. This Rosé has an inviting, aromatic profile presenting guava, peach, nectarine, and strawberry. The aromatics perfectly match the flavor of the wine with the addition of juicy watermelon and honeydew. I had moved away from Rosé from this for a while until trying this one!Â
The Alpha proudly showcases the complex layers of a red blend with fruit selected purposefully from vineyard blocks spanning our breathtaking mountain ridgeline at 1,600 ft. The backbone of this bold yet supple blend is Cabernet Sauvignon providing abundant textural tannins with a silky mouthfeel.
Omega was the final thought of a long blending season. This wine shows off the most unique and undiscovered elements of our vineyard. Using all five of the red Bordeaux varietals, it showcases some of the best of three different vintages in one wine. This wine is a liquid timeline that captures drastically different weather patterns of each season.
The flagship of Dynamis Estate Wines comprises the very best of the vintage. Dynamis, defined as limitless power, presents the Mountain, confident full-bodied blend that exemplifies the strength of our mountain’s terroir. Intense purple color and violet aromas hint at the dark fruit flavors of blackberries and plums dominating the palate. The integrated tannins make way for rich background notes of morel mushrooms, toffee, chocolate, and a noteworthy savory finish.
I came home with several bottles for my collection at home! Which leads me to the Wine Club Details!

The Dynamis Estate Wine Club offers something for everyone—from the adventure-seeking wine connoisseur to the casual wine lover—including the benefit of firsthand access to our premium wines and luxury brand experience. There are two different options for the Wine Club that both include spring and fall releases. One of my favorite aspects of the wine club is the invitation to the seasonal Pick-Up Weekends with complimentary wine, live music, and incredible bites. Dynamis Estate Wines – Additional Thoughts
I cannot rave about Dynamis Estate Wines enough. Katy and Matheson are incredibly dedicated to their craft and have created such a welcoming environment. I love that both of them attended the VEN Program at the renowned Shelton-Badgett North Carolina Center for Viticulture and Enology, a true gem of a program to have here in North Carolina. Katy & Matheson built Dynamis from the ground up and have created something truly exceptional and a hidden gem here! The care, attention to detail, and vision for their wine are truly outstanding and they lead with kindness and professionalism on top of everything else. What I most appreciated was the elevated, high-end experience in a casual, welcoming space.
