Recently, I have been loving adding indoor plants to our home over the past couple of months. One of my favorite places for indoor house plants is The Zen Succulent (seen here and here). I started researching plants to have in our house because I was noticing that both mine and Winston’s allergies were flaring up. I added a fiddle leaf fig bush first because despite an unsuccessful try at our old house, there was a lot of natural light at this house.
We were impressed with how well it took, so decided to add a second fiddle leaf fig tree to our dining room (an update on that coming soon). I loved the height and depth it added to the room. On Earth Day, we took a drive to Durham to the Zen Succulent and added a couple of potted plants, including . In the kitchen, I added English Ivy to our kitchen in a wooden tray I added to hold our recipe box, Amazon Alexa Dot, and a food scale. I also added a parlor palm to our bedroom that I will share when we do our master bedroom reveal next month (check out our inspiration here).
Here are some of my favorite indoor house plants that have been easy to maintain and great for our air quality in our house.
- Fiddle Leaf Fig Tree
- Fiddle Leaf Fig Bush
- English Ivy
- Parlor Palm
- Hoya Plant
- Heart Fern Plant
Other plant options that I love are peace lilies, aloe, air plants, bromeliad, and philodendron. Just be sure to check and make sure plants are okay for pets. Some of the ones we have aren’t, so we have them dog proofed to prevent Winston & Gizmo from ingesting anything they shouldn’t.
Do you have any indoor plants? What are your favorites?
