This time of year is always a favorite for me between the twinkle lights, the opportunity to celebrate time with family and friends and the time to reflect. Between my annual North Carolina holiday gift guide and my annual favorite things giveaway, I also appreciate this chance to highlight favorite makers, products, and places that have made up bright spots in my year! I always look forward to compiling my favorite things for my annual giveaway as a way to say thank you for being here & supporting my dream of I’m Fixin’ To! If you follow me on Instagram or my newsletter, you may know just how much I’ve enjoyed reading this year. A special thank you to my friend, Clarke, for introducing me to Book of the Month. I has definitely been a favorite subscription for me this year. I swapped out our dryer sheets for these wool dyer balls and we have been really pleased with how it has cut down on our drying time. 1 set lasts up to 1,000 loads and we add lavender oil to ours for a light scent. While I know it’s almost 2022, I still use a paper planner to write out my to-do lists each week and to keep track of my schedule. For the past several years, Rifle Paper Co has been my go-to brand for a planner!

I have really sensitive skin that tends to be dry, so I get a little nervous about face masks. This Rooted Beauty (by Grove Collaborative) Green Tea Mask is a great one in my beauty rotation. Hands down, the best overall mascara is Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara. I wear this daily on its own and pair under this Chanel mascara for volume and thickness. Over the summer, I picked up a Pura Home Diffuser during the Nordstrom sale. Now that I’m working from home full time, this has been a really nice way to keep our home smelling fresh all day. For a gorgeous pair of designer shoes that are also comfortable (hello, fellow folks with bunions!), Sarah Flint is simply the best! I have been *loving* my pair of Emma heels because the height is great for every day wear, the tortoise heel keeps it interesting, and they are comfortable. A couple of friends recommended the Soma Intimates bralettes, and they’ve made a believer out of me. I have a couple of colors and have asked for more because they are the best! They are smooth under clothing, a tad more supportive, and insanely comfortable.

There have been a lot of changes in my life this year, and after living through a seemingly never ending global pandemic (get your vaccine & booster, y’all!), I feel like every day is a reason to celebrate. My favorite Champagne to celebrate with is Veuve Cliquot and obviously it needs to be served in a Estelle Colored Glass Champagne Coupe, like my amber smoke set.

Do you have a home fragrance that you just love? I have always wanted to have a home fragrance that defined our home, and I think I’ve finally found it–it’s Nest Amalfi Lemon & Mint candle. If you’ve been here for a while, you may know that I adore a statement earring. Mignonne Gavigan has been my go-to for interesting, statement earrings for a while and in 2021, I added the Madelines to my collection of minis.

One of my goals for 2021 was to stop spending so much on clothes, so I decided to try a Rent the Runway subscription. Spoiler: I love it! It’s a great way to get everyday outfits, trendy handbags, and of course, dresses for special events. For the past couple of years, I’ve been searching for the best hydrating lip products. I recently added this Grande Cosmetics Plumping Lip Mask to my rotation and I have appreciated the hydration and the way it smooths out lines when wearing lip color over top.

I will always add accessories no matter where we are going, so these Budha Girl Bangles have been a great addition. They’re all-weather so I wore them everywhere: the beach, pool, washing dishes, more formal events. They come in three different sizes for your wrist as well. One of my weaknesses in home decor purchases are throw blankets and after being influenced by Grace Atwood, I picked up this ChappyWrap throw for our new couch. It lives up to the hype, is easy to care for, and works both indoors to snuggle with or for wrapping up on the beach, a porch swing, or as a picnic blanket.

Olaplex No. 3 is one of my holy grail products in my hair care rotation. My hair has been much thicker and stronger than in years past, and I attribute that to consistently using Olaplex No. 3. I use it on the 1st, 15th, and last day of each month. For body care, I use Nécessaire everything: body wash, body exfoliator, body oil, body lotion. It is a non-negotiable for me these days.

I am not one to shy away from sequins and love any reason to wear them. I got this J. Crew sequin skirt for the holidays and have loved styling it! The button detail, leg slit, and elastic waist make this a sure staple for my closet. It comes in black, too. I would recommend sizing down as it runs a tad large. After swooning over these shoes for years, I finally added the Loeffler Randall Emilia Gold Pleated Bow Heel to my closet. French Girl Cuticle Oil has been a saving grace for my dry cuticles, especially during the winter months.
