One of my favorite parts of creating this community and its social media channels are getting to connect with other people who are either in the area, visiting and looking for recommendations, or moving to the area. I really enjoy offering recommendations and perspectives on a variety of topics including where to grab lunch, local shops to visit, and the best picnic spots. I also occasionally get asked for recommendations on medical professionals, hair stylists, and nail techs, so in honor of the last day of Women’s History Month, I wanted to share a round up of the women in the triangle area who keep me going.

10 Women in the Triangle Who Keep Me Going: Health Care
Bethany Hauch
A couple of years ago, I started seeing Bethany for acupuncture and it has turned into one of my favorite ways to destress and relax. Not only has she helped achieve some of my health goals, she has also become a fun friend to catch up with on my visits.
Dr. Erin Lesesky
One of the things I encourage people to do is see a dermatologist. I am incredibly grateful to have health insurance that helps me maintain my skin health. I get a full skin check every 6 months and Dr. Lesesky is the best of the best. I’ve had quite a few spots biopsied and am grateful for the preventive care. She is intentional with the types of removal and stitching she does to help minimize scarring. While Dr. Lesesky is not accepting new patients, I would highly recommend seeing one of the doctors at Duke Dermatology. You can read the letter I wrote my former self about my skin care habits here.
Dr. Jessica Forestier
When I moved to the Triangle back in 2008, I switched my dental practice to Britt Dental in Brier Creek. While I adore Dr. Britt, I’ve been seeing Dr. Forestier since she joined the practice. She is a bubbly breath of fresh air who is welcoming and always takes time to get to know you a bit better. I thoroughly enjoy comparing travel notes with her, which is always a way to ease my stress of being at the dentist’s office.
Meagan Thomas
I’m a big fan and advocate of therapy and recently started seeing Meagan on a weekly basis. Our standing weekly lunch date helps ground my thinking, provides strategies for me while dealing with anxiety and learning how to continue to release control, and maintaining boundaries. I’ve really enjoyed talking about that in the context of women’s empowerment and gender roles. I sent an email to: info@carolinaswc.org to inquire if she was accepting new patients and after the initial appointment, she and I have scheduled either at the end of my appointment or via email.
Dr. Susannah Copland
While I’m not going to divulge too much information here on this topic yet, I highly recommend scheduling a consultation with Dr. Copland if you have questions regarding fertility options. She is an excellent support and provides a lot of realistic context around an incredibly sensitive topic.
Dr. Tammi Williams
I lucked up and found one of the best doctors for women’s health around. She is a force with a big personality and a lot of heart. I’ve appreciated her bedside care and her compassion while also offering high quality medical advice and support.

Amelia Aesthetics
Angie &Â Chelsea at Amelia Aesthetics have really helped my skin care game of the past year. They offer a wide variety of procedures and skin care lines. I enjoy following along with them both on social media for their suggestions, and Gretta is one of my favorite accounts on Instagram.
Katy J. Baugh
My love for Katy runs deep–we’ve been together for quite a while now and my hair & scalp have never been healthier. I trust her judgment on hair color options, cuts, and products. She’s knowledgeable, personable, enthusiastic, and a huge cheerleader for her clients no matter what their passions are. My hair appointments are some of my favorites on my calendar because I get some time to catch up with her. While she’s a busy lady, she is accepting new clients. See why I get my hair professionally colored here.
Khameo Primus
I just adore my appointments with Khameo, too! She’s been my nail tech for several years now, and my nails are stronger than ever thanks to her. She is incredibly talented and I look forward to what nail art she’s going to do next on Instagram. Her new nail salon creates an experience and she always has the best playlist going.
