At this point in my life, I am so lucky to have found a hair stylist who helps me learn how to style my hair, use products that work for my naturally curly, fine hair, and how to take care of it in between visits. I have shared some of my experiences as to why I color my hair professionally and why I started wearing extensions, so today I wanted to share the top 6 hair essentials you need thanks to my experience with Katy.
The 6 Hair Essentials you Need for your Hair Extensions:
IGK Good Behavior Spirulina Protein Smoothing Spray:
I subbed all of my other smoothing products for this spray. I use it on damp hair, spray it on in sections, and the comb through. I dry my hair with a round brush or a Wet Brush, and it keeps my hair smoother than any other product I’ve tried. It works really well on naturally curly hair, and provides a nice shine. Don’t over spray it, and I don’t recommend spraying on dry hair because it could make it look greasy.
IGK Thirsty Girl Coconut Milk Leave-In Conditioner:
This leave-in conditioner is one of my favorites to finish my styles with, particularly if my hair is feeling extra dry. It’s a easy spray to brush through and leaves my hair feeling more vibrant and less brittle.
Redken No. 05 Wind Blown Dry Finishing Spray:
I love this as an option for a hair spray. It smells great, is light, and holds my hair in place, while giving it movement.
IGK Rich Kid Coconut Oil Gel:
I recently started wearing my hair curly again because of this product. It has helped my hair feel hydrated and holds the curl well. I highly recommend if you have naturally curly or wavy hair.
IGK Beach Club Texture Spray:
I love this texture spray! It smells amazing, helps provide volume, and creates great texture. I use this in conjunction with Rich Kid to get beachy waves and to hold my curls in place instead of using hair spray.
DryBar Triple Sec 3-in-1:
I have swapped my dry shampoo for this spray! It is one of my favorite products for day 3 hair when I use a curling wand, and it helps hold my hair in place, while creating volume and texture. Because my hair is fine, it has a tendency to go flat, but this product is a life saver for that. Some days, I’ll use it right after I do my hair to make the style last longer.
Katy introduced me to the IGK and Redken products and they have been absolute game changers. There is now a DryBar in Waverly Place in Cary and Jennifer is the one who introduced me to using Triple Sec while styling my hair to make the style last longer.
