Good morning y’all! Â I am so excited to bring you a recap of our Christmas vacation today. Â DG and I made a decision to spend our first married Christmas together and we wanted to do a little getaway. Â We decided on Washington D.C. because DG had not been since he was in middle school and I hadn’t been in a couple of years.
We drove to Jackson to spend the night with my parents and have our Christmas early before heading to D.C. Â We went out to dinner and I just love how Main Street looks at Christmas.
My dad generously took us to the train station on Tuesday morning.  It was my first time taking the train, so I was pretty excited.  The Rocky Mount train station is shockingly beautiful and pays tribute to the historic significance of eastern North Carolina.
Our train was delayed two hours and I was a little worried about making our dinner reservations at Old Ebbit Grill. Â We did find a coffee shop in the train station which made the wait a little more pleasant for me.
We checked in at the Hilton Garden Inn and got ready for dinner at Old Ebbitt Grill. Â I ordered the Riot Burger, which comes with bacon, fried oysters, and pickled shallots and it was seriously… amazing.Â
You are making me want to go to D.C. like right now!! I love how hotels decorate for the holidays- they make it so festive!! Sounds like it was a great first leg of the trip, can't wait to read the second half…and that everything bagel looks amazing right about now!! xo, Biana – BlovedBoston
Glad you had a great Christmas break!! All of your pictures are so gorgeous! That train station is amazing… it's so pretty up there during Christmas!
