Happy Monday, my friends! I’m so excited you are joining me for this Thanksgiving edition of weekending. I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving break. DG & I loved having dinner at our new home this year, but we also loved having some time to get things crossed off our to do list, plus a little fun worked in. It has been a while since I have done a true weekending post, and I am too pumped to post this one! Here’s a look back at our long weekend.
On Monday, my BFF and her husband were in town and we got to celebrate her birthday a litle early. We hit up Trophy Brewing for pizza and we had the best time catching up.
I didn’t get any pictures on Tuesday, but I reunited with some family that I hadn’t seen in a while. I finally had dinner at Capital Club 16 and then dessert at Calavera.
On Wednesday, my buddy KP and I had dinner in Pittsboro. We tried Oakleaf before they move to their new location in Carrboro in 2018.
Thursday, I woke up and got ready for our supper. This is the first year I’ve had to work on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, and I felt a little out of sorts, but it truly worked out perfectly. DG and I had a lovely dinner together with our boys. The weather was perfect and we loved the view from our new back yard.
On Friday, DG and I woke up and started decorating for Christmas. If you saw my Instastories, we did phase one of our outdoor decorations and all of my porch dreams are coming true. If you’re not following me on Instagram, you totally should. I also worked on grad school assignments. I have a final paper due and a quiz coming up, so I took time to gather my thoughts for that, too.
Saturday, I woke up early and met Angela, Courtney, and Glory at the Family Farm in Holly Springs for a fun collaboration. DG came and met me to pick out our Christmas tree for this year, too. I can’t wait to share our collaboration with you in the coming weeks! And if you’re local and looking for a place to get a tree, be sure to check out our friends at the Family Farm. They are the best! I’ve posted about them here, here, and here before.
LOFT sweater (on sale!) | J. Crew Factory high waisted jeans (on sale!) | J.Crew socks (on sale!)
Ray-Ban Avaitors ( on sale!) | L. L. Bean boots (on sale!) | beanie (similar on sale!)
And on Sunday, DG & I hung the rest of our outdoor lights. I am doing a holiday home tour in the coming weeks, but I’ll be sharing snips over on Instagram.
I originally posted the above photo with the caption “Lets file this under: {things that make me anxious}” which is why the photo below says “still anxious.”

How was your Thanksgiving? Are you decorated for Christmas yet?
Have a great last week of November! Don’t forget to link up with Biana and me for weekending today!
