Happy Friday, friends! I cannot believe it is the last coffee talk of 2017. DG and I are in full preparation mode for our annual Christmas party that we’ve lumped together as a house warming party as well. I’m jumping on to share a few of my thoughts from this month for the December Edition of coffee talk.
Did you see my Instastories this week? I finally caught the culprit of our chewed up door frames and doors. I have to admit, I thought it was our already anxiety ridden Gizmo. But, I caught Winston, our seven year old, red handed. I am hoping the solutions we have come up with now that we know which one it is will be helpful.
I had a very humbling few weeks and reminder that all things come in due time. I have been learning a lot over the past year, and despite a few outcomes different than I anticipated, this has been a rewarding, fulfilling year and I am looking forward to what 2018 brings.
This time of year is always my most exciting time of the year, but I feel like it flies by so quickly. I am taking the last 10 days before Christmas, and the days leading up to the new year to really take in all the love, warmth, and positivity around me. Life is too short to do anything other than that.
DG & I are heading to New Orleans soon, and I am so excited! I am feeling a little out of sorts that I have not had time to sit down and plan out what we’ll do while we are there, but I am also wondering if that is necessarily a bad thing. How do you plan trips? Do you wing it?
Monday was not my favorite day because I came home and realized I had bought the wrong paint for our bathroom. When I sat down to address our Christmas cards, I realized I had not one, but TWO, typos. Friends encouraged me to send them and say “this is where we’re at right now.” But I couldn’t bring myself to do it.
Next week, I’ll be sharing a home tour with you + outfits for the holidays. I actually cannot believe I am posting both of those the week before Christmas, but I swear the time has just slipped right through my fingers.
Remember this post? I was so excited to cross off Beef Mastor Inn and Oakleaf, which is moving from Pittsboro to Carrboro in 2018. I am looking forward to planning some little adventures with DG in 2018 to check off more.
I have really been in a purging mood recently to get rid of the clutter in my life. I struggle because of sentimental reasons, or worse, “what if I need this for an Instagram post?” Which, is real life. What tips do you have for purging without guilt?
I hope you have a great weekend! Be sure to check back for our home tour with Zoe’s Kitchen on Monday!
P.S. Have you checked out my gift guides this year? Here’s my local NC guide, my guide for her, and my guide for him, and the best home fragrances for the holidays.
P.P.S. My favorite things giveaway winner has been announced over on this post. Congratulations! Thanks to everyone who entered and for supporting me on this space! I cannot say thank you enough! Stay tuned for more giveaway opportunities in 2018.
