We have hit that time of year when the Raleigh humidity is out in full force. It is no joke and as someone who is naturally hot-natured, I consider myself an expert in locating items that will help beat the heat and humidity. Here are 10 essentials every Raleigh woman needs this summer.

Essentials Every Raleigh Woman Needs This Summer
Breezy Sundresses, Rompers, and Two Piece Sets
I learned a long time ago that maxi dresses are my friend during the torturous summer heat and humidity, especially if they are printed like this one or a linen option like this. I prefer midi or maxi dresses that I can tie in a knot, either for style or to help cool off. I also gravitate towards black rompers and jumpsuits. Why black? Because it hides sweat stains, duh. Check out some of my favorite two-piece sets here! And I like styling my summer outfits with a straw bag and a fun pair of earrings.
Multi-Use Hair Products
My naturally curly/frizzy hair is hard to tame in the summer humidity. I really avoid using styling tools on my hair during the summer because it is just too hot and my hair kinks up anyway. So, I have leaned into multi-use hair products like coconut oil cream, hydrating styling sprays such as this one, and a flexible hairspray to let my hair do its thing while still providing a little control.
Reusable Water Bottle or Cup
I mean, these are worth the investment. It keeps your beverage ice cold all day long, even in the heat, and is good for the environment. Plus, no sweat on the bottle or cup, either. My friend, Hannah, gifted me this cup and I also keep a spare bottle of water in my work bag just in case I need it.
Cooling Skincare
I tend to prefer cooling skincare products regardless of the season since I am so hot-natured. That said, it is a necessity in the summer! I love this make-up primer, this cooling water stick to use under the eyes and as a pick-me-up during the day, and an ice roller. I use the ice roller to depuff in the morning and throughout the day as needed as well!
Skin & Lip Sun Protection
While this is likely a given, I feel very strongly about reminding you to take your skin health seriously! You can read more about why here. This lip balm keeps your lips hydrated and protected! I use this one for my face daily and then always have this on hand.
Aloe Based Skincare
I use this after-sun lotion just to help soothe my skin after being in the sun in the summer. I also really love this facial spray with aloe in it to help with dehydrated skin.
Sun Hat
I love wearing a hat during the summer to keep myself protected from the sun and for style. I like this hat because of the UPF protection, this one for the pool, and this one for wearing when out and about. I also love a good baseball hat and recently added this one to my collection.
A House Dress or Nightgown
A few summers ago, I invested in my first pair of Lake Pajamas and was so impressed with the softness and how lightweight these pajamas are. A couple of years ago, I picked up this seersucker nightgown and I live in it in the summer! It is too hot to wear a robe, especially when getting ready, so I rely on this. I hate being hot, especially while sleeping, so these are my go-to’s. Bonus these sheets and this quilt for bedding to stay cool in the summer.
Rose Water Spray
I keep rose water sprays in my makeup bag and my work bag to set my makeup and to refresh throughout the day. It is also a must-have when traveling, too! This has been a tried and true favorite of mine for several years now.
A Personal Fan
Listen, one of the best investments I have made in recent years is for a personal fan. I have this one that I carry everywhere with me! I use it on my Peloton, on my desk, on my nightstand, and bring it in my purse and when traveling. This neck fan is going to be my next purchase.
