A few weekends ago, I headed to 21c Museum Hotel in Durham, NC for a little girls’ staycation with Angela, Em, & Nikki. 21c is located in the city center of downtown Durham, within walking distance of some of my favorites places (Mateo, DPAC, Durham Bulls Athletic Park, Parlour, Chet Miller, you get the picture). I had my first experience at a 21c Museum Hotel when I went to Louisville, and toured the art gallery there. I love the creative vibes in this historic bank building in Durham that has been converted into a luxury hotel. There is still evidence of the bank, including the vault where private parties can be hosted (stay tuned for this in a later post)!
We were greeted by a trademark fuschia penguin, wine, and a cheese tray. We checked out the amenities our room had, including this awesome view, a rubber ducky in our shower, and Malin + Goetz toiletries. It was a beautiful autumn day, and I loved the view of the historic buildings in City Center.
Also, how cute was this little welcome bag 21c put together for us? We were obsessed with the fuschia pengiuns, so I was pumped to have a miniature one to bring back with me.
We promptly changed into our Vera Bradley pjs so we could relax before the afternoon/evening ahead. This was my favorite part because we snacked, sipped, and caught up on life happenings. There is nothing better than good girl talk!
And then Angela surprised us with Veuve. We finished up our girl talk and got ready for our next adventure in 21c, but it wasn’t without some prodding. The room, our Vera Bradley pjs, and room service made it too comfortable!
Here’s a sneak peek at the outfit I wore in the afternoon while exploring.
Be sure to check back for more on this look & the rest of our stay at 21c Museum Hotel in Durham!
