Five years ago, I rebranded my website to include articles and features focused on my favorite parts of my home state of North Carolina. Over the last five years, I’ve enjoyed sharing travel guides across the state, and you may find those here. To be quite honest, last year I lost some of the enjoyment with creating content for this space and overall felt burnt out. I did a bit of soul searching about what brings me joy and I kept coming back to the fact that writing about new experiences is right at the top of the list.
With that in mind, I kept thinking about ways to get back to that goal. So, I set a goal for myself to visit all 100 counties in NC in 2021. Keep reading for what I’m excited about with this goal!
2021 Goal: Visiting All 100 Counties in NC
While we’re starting 2021 off with the pandemic still raging and most are still waiting for the vaccine, one of my goals is to have day trip options that include opportunities to get outdoors and to social distance. One portion of the goal we’ve set is that we are going to get a North Carolina Parks Passport to experience the 41 North Carolina parks while traveling around the state.
I am so excited to revisit some of my favorite corners of the state and I’m looking forward to checking some places off my travel list that I’ve had for a while. Part of the requirement that I’ve set for ourselves is our tour has to include enough for at least a 300-word post to include as a day trip travel guide or as part of an itinerary. If you have recommendations of where we should visit one our 100 counties tour, please comment below or email me at imfixintoblog [at] gmail [dot] com.
Currently, I have a tab for Eastern North Carolina, Central North Carolina, and Western North Carolina under the Travel category that houses previous travel guides. With this goal, I plan on updating existing posts and providing itineraries. Here is a landing page where I’m housing travel guides for each of the 100 counties.
So, I hope you’ll follow along with us on this journey! I am looking forward to sharing progress posts to let you know how we are coming along.

This is such a cool goal and I’m excited to follow along! I honestly haven’t kept good track of how many counties I’ve been to in Virginia, but now I am curious to go add it up!
