Looking back, I find it ironic that the Valentine’s date night ideas I shared were for low-key date nights in. What I wouldn’t do for an overpriced, cheesy date night out after almost a whole year of quarantining! Those date night ideas are still some of our favorite and a good starting point if you opt to stay in. However, if you are looking for a way to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a date night while still social distancing, here are 5 lovely ideas. This year marks that 10th Valentine’s Day that David and I have been together, and while I have no idea what we might end up doing, here are some fun ideas to consider.

Visit a Local Park
One of my favorite places to visit in Raleigh is the North Carolina Museum of Art and this would be the perfect spot for my fellow Raleighites to have a Valentine date night. Whether it is to visit some of the exhibits in the museum or to stroll the outside park before having a picnic. I’m still loving the take out life, so this sounds like a fun time. And if we did the outdoor park, we could bring Winston & Gizmo, which is always a bonus.
Stream a Virtual Concert
Check with your favorite artists to see if they are playing live music that you can stream. You can always locate live streams that were saved from earlier in the quarantines to stream as a live concert at home as well. The North Carolina Symphony is live-streaming a Valentine’s concert and Josh Groban is also live-streaming new songs on Valentine’s Day as well. Or, consider making a play list of your favorite songs and artists to enjoy while hanging together.
Take a Wine Class
If you’re looking to venture out for a socially distant wine class offering, Vitis House at the Loading Dock in Raleigh offers a great experience for learning more about wines. Vitis House and The Wine Feed are also offering online wine classes and that is a great option for staying at home while getting to learn more about wine pairings. I really like the wine and chocolate pairing course at the Wine Feed on February 12.
Go Camping in your Backyard
Okay, while I’m not a fan of actual camping, I do enjoy having a backyard picnic complete with a fire and S’mores. Weather permitting, this would be a great way to end Valentine’s weekend, complete with listening to a live streamed concert or a play list for the occasion.
Plan a Mini-Getaway
Whether it’s a day trip to a new-to-you town, or an overnight staycation at a local hotel or Air BnB rental, I always love a mini getaway no matter the occasion. A fun way to start might be getting a North Carolina State Parks Passport and find a new park to get your first stamp! Not from North Carolina?
