It’s not usual for me to have wanderlust, and it’s stronger than ever since I’m closing in on one year since I flew to visit another city. This girls’ weekend in New Orleans was my last big trip in 2020 before the COVID-19 lockdown. While we’re sticking close to home until we are vaccinated, here are 9 hotels that are on my radar for when we can start traveling again. It’s been especially dreary here recently, so daydreaming about trips has been helpful. Here are 9 North American hotels to visit.
9 Hotels on My Radar
Farmhouse Inn and Restaurant

I’ve had this hotel saved for years because I’ve always dreaming of heading out to Wine Country for a leisurely long weekend experience. This hotel seems like the perfect spot to get away, disconnect, and unwind. I love this set up with the iconic pool and the property seems just beautiful!
Hôtel Gault – Montreal

For our 5th wedding anniversary, David and I were all set to visit Montreal with a stay at the Hotel Gault. We boarded our flight and after being in the air for 15 minutes, we were turned around and sent back to RDU. We were both really disappointed that we didn’t make it and have been looking forward to a return trip back.
Kimpton Aluna Tulum

I just happened upon this hotel when looking at the Kimpton Key West options and love the gorgeous bohemian hotel. It’s located in between Tulum’s downtown and the white sand beaches. The hotel is recently renovated and has a rooftop bar. I just keep daydreaming about riding a bike to the downtown to shop and get street food when I’m not relaxing on the beach.
Kimpton Key West – Winslow’s Bungalows

I’ve shared before that I absolutely adore Kimpton hotels, and the Kimpton Key West Hotel Collection is full of amazing spots. I am especially eyeing Winslow’s Bungalows because of the location to Duval Street, Ernest Hemingway’s home, and Harry S. Truman’s Little White House. I am also very into the three pools on the property.
Mokara Hotel & Spa – San Antonio

San Antonio has been on my list of places to visit for a while, specifically to check out the River Walk. This urban oasis right on the River Walk, complete with a spa, a heated rooftop pool, and the clean design have me daydreaming about a getaway here soon!
The Pearl – Rosemary Beach

Isn’t Rosemary Beach just absolutely dreamy? I saw this on a local business owner’s Instagram years ago and have lived vicariously through all the people I’ve seen travel here ever since. The classic black and white details are so tasteful and the retro vibes are timeless!
Primland Resort – Meadows of Dan

Talk about a perfect place to socially distance! This stunning resort in the Blue Ridge Mountains is the perfect spot to unplug and relax with a variety of activities. However, I would honestly just use the opportunity to relax and take in the views.
Thompson Hotel – Washington DC

One of our favorite cities is Washington DC and it’s been a while since we’ve visited. The Thompson Hotel has an excellent location for seeing the monuments and walking to explore various museums. It also has an impressive food scene and stellar views of the city. It’s definitely on our list of places to revisit and rediscover once it’s safe to travel again!
Whiteface Lodge – Lake Placid

We were introduced to Whiteface Lodge a couple of years ago on our first trip to New Orleans when chatting with a bartender at our hotel bar. Ever since, it’s been on our bucket list of places to visit because it has something to do regardless of the season. The pools are open year round, both indoor and outdoor since they’re heated. There is a campfire and s’mores every night and gorgeous dining options.
