Three years in our ranch has gone by in the blink of an eye. I’ve mentioned before that it’s hard to remember what it was like in our first home and it only continues to affirm our decision to move to this home. We are both so happy with how it’s coming together after being here for over three years. Check out our first year updates to our ranch, which includes how we ended up here thanks to David. Our second year home updates are here with some of the projects we did. Keep reading for our updates after three years in our ranch. Keep up with all our home updates to our ranch on this page.
3 Years in Our Ranch: Home Updates
David and I tend to focus on one room at a time for updates. It is what works for our budget and time, especially since we tend to do many of the projects ourselves. Being at home for the majority of 2020, we checked off several of the maintenance items that we sometimes procrastinate. There are a couple of projects that we started, like our living room, that unfortunately have been delayed because of the production problems we’ve encountered with our sectional. Regardless, we made some good progress on our home in 2020 and are excited to see it continue to come together. Here are some of our updates.
Home Office Decor and Reveal
I am still a bit astonished at the timing of me sharing this update–literally the week that we went into quarantine with the stay at home order. Who would have guessed that David’s update of our home office would have been so timely? This space has been such a lovely work space since working remote for the majority of 2020. See more on how David installed the built-ins here.
3 Tips for Making the Most of your Front Porch
I was never more thankful for a front porch than I was last spring. It was so nice to have an outlet with planting, watering, and just enjoying the space during our stay-at-home orders. Be sure to head over to the original post for some of our favorite products for our front porch.
10 Backyard Picnic Essentials
David and I really took to the backyard picnic idea, too! After I shared that post featuring our new fire pit and Adirondack chairs, we decided to update it with the stone border. We love the way this turned out!
Home Fragrances for an Instant Pick-Me-Up during Quarantine (or anytime!)
One of my cleaning rituals is to go around and light candles after I’ve cleaned a room. It holds me accountable to pick up, even a little bit each day. The fragrances mentioned in this blog post are some of my favorite to lift my spirits, which is especially important right now.

One of our biggest quarantine projects was updating this guest bathroom. I had quite an enjoyable time spending my weekends working in here using this inspiration board as a guide.
We’ve already started some new updates in 2021, like updating the flooring in our master bedroom. We’re excited to share more projects this year, like how to update a small master bedroom closet and we’re hopeful to finish our living room, too!
