Earlier this month, David and I traveled to Savannah to meet with friends for a weekend getaway. I keep a running list of places that I would like to visit, including where I would like to stay and eat while in town, and the Alida Hotel has been on my list ever since we stayed at The Alida’s sister hotel, Hotel Emeline in Charleston, a few years ago. The hotel is centrally located on River Street and in a great, walkable area to lots of tourist attractions in the area. Additionally, the rooms are beautiful, and there is a delightful pool area and great restaurants on site. Today, I am sharing more about our experience with our honest review of the hotel. Spoiler alert, we highly recommend staying here on your next trip to Savannah!
Alida Hotel Savannah GA Review
The Alida Hotel Savannah is a Marriott Tribute hotel, part of the Marriot independent boutique hotels, which is a nice advantage if you are a Marriott Bonvoy member. The hotel is located along the riverfront and offers the perfect home base for a trip to the Hostess City of the South! We spent a quick weekend there and I am already looking forward to a return trip to spend more time lounging on the pool deck and exploring more of the city. The hotel is absolutely beautiful and all of their common areas are exquisite. The rooms are cozy and welcoming, yet incredibly stylish.
Alida Hotel Savannah Check-In
Despite being a Marriott Tribute Portfolio hotel where you can check in in advance on the app and use a mobile key, I recommend checking in at the desk to get your parking squared away. Checking in is seamless, including being welcomed with reusable water bottles for the water stations on each floor. At check-in, be sure to have your card and ID ready for a quicker process. The staff is helpful and provides a high-level overview of the amenities and options on the property. The customer service is outstanding.
Alida Hotel Savannah Rooms
Every room at the Alida Hotel comes with a king-size bed and the rooms are individually designed with one-of-a-kind elements from local artists at Savannah College of Art & Design. Our room had a window seat with a view of the Savannah River, which I enjoyed curling up and reading on each morning. The rooms get beautiful natural light with amazing hardwoods. We loved the marble bathroom with the walk-in shower and Red Flower bath products. The bed is insanely comfortable and the bed linens are so soft.

Included in the final bill is an amenities fee, which provides access to quite a wide variety of bonuses for booking at the Alida Hotel.

Alida Hotel Savannah Pool
We were only at the Alida Hotel for one full day while we were in town and unfortunately, it was windy and rainy so we were not able to take full advantage of the hotel pool. That said, it is a beautiful outdoor space with fire pits, bistro tables, and then lounge chairs, and cabanas. The Cabana Club Pool Bar serves food from Rhett and craft cocktails to enjoy in the outdoor space.
Alida Hotel Savannah Parking
The parking option for the Alida is valet parking. It can get busy on the street in front of the hotel, so be prepared to be patient and wait for a spot to pull in for the valet and unload your car.
Alida Hotel Savannah Restaurant
The Alida Hotel is the total package and really is the essence of Southern hospitality. Their onsite restaurant, Rhett, serves coastal cuisine. Rhett is a fun take on the Southern dishes and is open for brunch and dinner daily! We stopped in here for brunch on Saturday morning and it was delicious! I got avocado toast and a side of the Old Bay fries. I do recommend making a reservation on weekends as it is a popular spot! We snagged seats at the coffee bar and that was an equally nice experience! The dress code is casual here and you will feel right at home in the cozy space.
We also stopped in the Trade Room both evenings we were in town for a drink in this stunning lounge. They make a hell of a dirty martini and often have live music to enjoy.
Alida Hotel Savannah Rooftop Bar
The Lost Square is the rooftop bar and restaurant that offers beautiful views of the river and the city skyline with a gorgeous outdoor fireplace! The food menu has a Mediterranean vibe and the dip platter was our favorite for a before-dinner snack while enjoying a drink. The vibes here are great and it is a cozy, casual spot to enjoy time with friends!
