Good morning, friends! Happy Monday! I am coming at you in real time today after taking a little break this weekend. I appreciate your well wishes from my reflection post on Friday and I am so excited to kick off another year. I am weekending with you on my birthday staycation filled with my favorite foods and friends. I was truly spoiled by those around me. Also, it has been quite some time since I did a weekending post according to my iPhone, so I am excited about bringing that back for this post!
My birthday celebrations started with lunch at Gonza Tacos y Tequila with some of my coworkers. I am obsessed with their shrimp tacos, so that was definitely a great way to start my day.
I came home to find the sweetest little lay out DG had for me. I am obsessed with Flowers on Broad Street for fresh flowers, so he snagged me a dozen roses, my favorite winter beer from Aviator, and a MacBook intro book. My personal PC is finally biting the dust, so this will be super helpful for when I get the MacBook Pro I’ve been eyeing.
DG took me to dinner at our favorite spot, Poole’s Diner, and we ordered our usual. Pimiento cheese appetizer, macaroni & cheese, and roasted chicken.
Saturday morning, I woke up to meet two of my former coworkers for a little road trip to see our 4th team member off on his 50K. One of the team is incredibly thoughtful, and when he invited us to ride with him to surprise our friend, we were all about it. Honestly, I wish I was more thoughtful like this, because it was really a great experience and we were so proud of our friend for beating his goal time. Look for pivotal moments to show support and love. It doesn’t have to cost a dime.
I got back, and we started getting ready for our staycation at the AC Hotel in North Hills. I was super excited about checking out this hotel and being able to just relax and enjoy my time with DG. But first, I had sushi at Tasu for lunch with a friend.
DG and I met up with my friend Lauren and her sister who was in town visiting at Level7. DG and I also had tapas there before heading to Midtown Grille for fried oysters and truffle fries.

In retrospect, I should have titled this post the one where I ate all my favorite things in 24 hours. Thank you so much for your birthday wishes. I am happy to have you following along with me on this adventure and I am looking forward to another year!
xx
