As a self-proclaimed Southern belle, one staple to my wardrobe and style is a good monogram. Reece Witherspoon once said “My rule is if it’s not moving, monogram it!” and I think most Southern women identify with monograms on some level. One of my favorite monogram shops is Marleylilly, and I have used the shop for gifts, personalizing monogrammed items for our honeymoon with my new initials, and for everyday wear.
We’ve had quite a mild winter here in North Carolina, so I’ve been gravitating towards items that are seasonably appropriate with colors and materials, but not too heavy. This preppy monogrammed sweatshirt from Marleylilly is the perfect length for leggings or skinnies, has faux leather detailing on the elbow and the pocket, and gives the personalized touch with a monogram.
I recently wore my monogrammed sweatshirt with my favorite skinnies, flats, and tassel earrings for a wine date with Glory at Vita Vite downtown. I like the blue and brown together, plus the black monogram makes it incredibly versatile to wear with a variety of neutral combinations. If you haven’t been to Vita Vite in downtown Raleigh, it has the perfect patio for a warm afternoon, but also an amazing art gallery, delicious pimiento cheese, and the best selection of wines.
One of my favorite aspects of Marleylilly is that there is always a great gift offer when purchasing. Most recently, the gift was for a pair of monogrammed duck boots with purchases of $100 or more. Another great aspect of the company is their Monogram 101 guide for a variety of gift options. If you are new to monograms, this is a great guide to use for ordering.
With winter hanging around just for a little bit longer, here are a few favorite monogrammed pieces that will take you from winter to spring:
