I am absolutely over the moon with the culinary scene that has emerged in Raleigh. As a self-proclaimed foodie, I always love trying new places on the weekends and my new favorite spot is Transfer Co. Food Hall. While it is not completed in its entirety yet, Transfer Co opens weekly for patrons to experience the various vendors. I met Glory a couple of weekends ago to try Locals Oyster Bar and left with dessert from Captain Cookie & the Milkman.
My love of food halls started last year when I was in Tampa and had dinner at a fantastic food hall there. Transfer Co. Food Hall is a beautiful space, with great communal spaces, and the current vendors there are outstanding. Weekly hours are updated on the website and on Transfer Co. Food Hall’s Instagram. While there are areas that are still under construction, it does not distract from the space, the vendors, and the atmosphere.
I love that the food hall has seating around the vendors but also communal seating upstairs, outdoors, and scattered around the open spaces. The space is beautifully renovated and is a true gem right in downtown Raleigh.
Glory & I started our experience at Benchwarmers Bagels with a coffee. I haven’t gotten to the food hall early enough yet for a bagel, but it is on my bucket list for this winter. They sell out early, and they are great about sharing on social media when they do sell out.

After fueling up on coffee, we headed over to Locals Oyster Bar for oysters fresh from the North Carolina Coast, but also a shrimp po’ boy. Glory and I each had an oyster from Ocracoke and one from Topsail and they were delicious and so fresh. The shrimp po’ boy was one of the best I’ve ever had, and I will be back for this meal real soon.

After we finished, we decided to walk around the food hall and we stumbled on Captain Cookie & the Milkman so of course we had to get dessert. I got a chocolate milkshake with Reese’s cups in it, while Glory got an ice cream sandwich and oh my gosh was it delicious.

If you haven’t been to Transfer Co. Food Hall yet, I highly recommend making plans this weekend. It is my new favorite spot in Raleigh and I can’t wait to take David for a date night.
