DG and I are doing things a little bit opposite than what we did in our last house. In our last home, we painted room by room, and started with our master bedroom. We moved to the kitchen, followed by the living room and dining room. In our second house, we have an open floor plan, we had the open areas painted all the same color and have been making monthly plans on updating our rooms. We decided to get the living areas updated first, and are finally ready to start tackling our room. So, I decided to share my master bedroom design inspiration with you here. As always, I would love your feedback and insight so please feel free to comment or email me suggestions!
I have a tendency to gravitate towards gray, and most of our house is painted Sherwin Williams Repose Gray. For this room, I am wanting something a bit darker than my tried and true favorite. I’m leaning towards Sherwin Williams Grizzle Gray or HGTV Home by Sherwin Williams Wormwood.
As for the decor, I pinned a few ideas quite a while ago that I still can’t stop thinking about for our new space. My all time favorite is this faux wood ceiling with the chandelier. Our room has a tray ceiling and we have taller ceilings than our last house, so I think this would look great, but I do love sleeping with a fan on, so TBD about the chandelier part.
DG built our last headboard in our old house, but if we have wood accents, I am leaning towards something upholstered for our headboard. I like this option that is on sale and this one.
I also tend to like solid colored bedding, especially lighter colors, so I am a bit stuck on what type of bedding I want to use. We have this that we like to use in the winter, but it does get pretty warm for the spring and summer. I also like something that is easy to wash since W & G are notorious for sleeping on our bed during the day. I am leaning towards something like this.
DG built our nightstands to go with our dresser, mirror, and stool. So, I am thinking we’re good on furniture unless I could find another stool to go with the one I already have for the end of the bed.
We are really looking to get a king size bed as well. We have had a queen for quite a while now, so I always enjoyed traveling and getting a king size bed in our room. Now that we are in the market, I am not entirely sure where to start. Biana posted about her Tuft & Needle, Shelby posted about her DreamCloud, and I have friends who have recommended the Original Mattress Factory in Raleigh, Sam’s Club, and Costco. Anyone else have recommendations? I’m not sure why this purchase seems so daunting to me, but I am definitely excited and want to make sure we purchase the best option for us.
Stay tuned for a home update next month. DG and I have been working on little projects here and there, and it’s about time that I shared those with you here instead of just on Instastories!

Cant’ wait to see how it all comes together!
Me too! It seems like it is taking forever! xx
