It’s no secret I am smitten about supporting local businesses, but especially those with roots in North Carolina. This post is entirely dedicated to shopping local in my area. And with Saturday being Small Business Saturday, sponsored by American Express, this seemed like a no-brainer time to post.
You can purchase the American Food Slab locally at Stylish Living in downtown Apex.
The House of Swank t-shirt is my favorite and available two stores down from Stylish Living at the adorable shop, The Doodling Bug! Julie is the sweetest and is so supportive of teachers, which is how I met her!
I’m also loving these maps from Edia Maps, featuring NC based beers and BBQ joints. I was over the moon when they sent me both to use!
You know I adore Native Look necklaces, as seen here (and coming up on Saturday!).
I have been posting a lot about The Flourish Market, but how adorable is this clutch? And the fact that it’s ethical, fair trade fashion? Win, win!
My sweet friend Andrea‘s happy little prints are just that! So happy! They make the perfect stocking stuffers.
High Cotton Ties and Tees are made with cotton from eastern NC and the softest shirts imaginable.
And finally, the sweet Sarah makes these necklaces local. You may have seen mine over on my Instagram account. She is an East Carolina alum, too, which makes me love her work just a little more!
Two other perfect Christmas items at local businesses:
Kristin makes the adorable signs at The Purple Polka Dot and it’s always hard to pick just one that’s my favorite. But this one is definitely my current love.
And I can’t get enough of Wicks for Wags! These candles smell great, are hand-poured, locally made, soy candles where a portion of the proceeds go to local animal shelters. Y’all know I’m obsessed with any business that supports giving back to the shelters that helped our sweet boys.
I recommend the Holly Berry for the holidays! Definitely a great scent!
What are your favorite local businesses?
Don’t forget to shop local on Saturday to show your support!

I think it's awesome that you have so many local places to shop! We've bought a few gifts for people from a few local stores and it feels good to support them! Happy Thanksgiving! xo, Biana –BlovedBoston
I love being able to support local and small businesses. The tomato and vinegar divide is fierce! Love that the candle business gives back to shelters!
