I feel like I say this every month of every year, but it is shocking how quickly time moves. I cannot believe that we are already in August of 2018. Time has been flying and when I reflect back on all the changes that have happened since last year at this time, I am just in awe of it. So, today, I welcome August with a July 2018 Instagram Roundup with some of my favorite scenes from July.
David and I have both been raving about our experience in Bryson City for our anniversary. We had such a lovely time and our anniversary dinner at The Bistro was a definite highlight. I also have loved this dress this summer. It is so comfy, lightweight, and great for the hot and humid days.
The best part of Bryson City is Lakeview at Fontana. It is the perfect getaway spot for an anniversary. We are hoping to make this an annual tradition. And this top is one of my favorites for both work and for casual settings.
We also loved the view and the environment at River’s End, which had been on my list of places I wanted to try in North Carolina. See more on that list here.
Lastly, this view from Lakeview at Fontana‘s soaking tub was our favorite part of the trip. This is my most saved Instagram photo, and I’d be lying if I told you I wasn’t thrilled about that. I rebranded my blog to showcase various parts of North Carolina, so this feels like I’m making progress towards that goal.
SunFest in Raleigh was such a beautiful way to spend an afternoon. These block wedges were not the best decision for the fields, but they are some of my favorite shoes for work and play. I’ve loved this Madewell dress for summer and am planning on styling it with cowboy boots for fall. I love this straw bag for summer, and you can see more ways I styled it here.
The brunch dress was perfect for sampling the brunch menu at the new Happy + Hale in North Hills.
I spent one glorious day at The Umstead spa with my two best girlfriends from college, and it was exactly what we all needed. There is nothing better than girl talk by a pool.
Angela & I just really loved sampling the new menu at Happy + Hale with Glory.
David and I ventured to the other end of the state in July for the first time in a couple of years. We were thrilled to get back to Ocracoke, and you can check out my travel guide here.
I live for the photos over on Letterfolk’s instagram, and this one hits too close to home for me. David loves to eat in, and I love to eat dinner out.
This was such a happy day for me. I loved the weather, the sunflowers, the view of the Raleigh skyline from the field, and this dress.
This off-the-shoulder top from Duffield Lane is one that I am looking forward to wearing well into fall thanks to the fabric and the color.
One of my favorite summer meals is a fried shrimp burger, and this one from Jolly Roger in Ocracoke.
The best places for Cinco de Mayo are also the best places for celebrating National Tequila Day in July.
I shared some of the updates we did in our master bedroom and our guest bedroom. I have really loved sharing our home updates and I hope to continue that particular aspect.
I toasted the end of my summer school session a little early in Ocracoke, and I am going to enjoy my three week break before kicking off the hardest part of my grad school yet. I’ll be taking 3 courses, including the first part of my thesis seminar this fall.
This jumpsuit was perfect for the weekend. On Saturday, I cohosted a baby shower for one of my bffs and then went straight to Glory’s wedding reception. I couldn’t have imagined just how handy this outfit would be from the comfort level of the shoes, the ease of the jumpsuit, and the handbag. The jumpsuit fabric is similar to bridesmaids dresses I’ve had from J. Crew, and the fit in the torso made it feel pulled together despite the full leg.
This bed frame is one of my favorite pieces of furniture in our house. We picked it up from Target and it was easy to put together and is just such a great addition. Check out more from our guest rooms here.
