It is hard to believe it has been a month since David and I were preparing for our trip to New Orleans! We originally picked New Orleans in the winter because we read that the temperatures are generally mild. Despite an arctic front that came through on the day we left, we lucked up with gorgeous weather, and today I am sharing what I wore while in New Orleans.
I have mentioned before that I have not met a plaid or checked shirt from J.Crew or J. Crew Factory that I haven’t loved. I decided to pack a flannel shirt in case it was chillier than expected and one of my normal cotton button downs. I also brought my J. Crew Factory Field Vest and Barbour jacket. I feel most comfortable in this type of outfit, so I was glad that I brought a couple of options for the weekend.

Barbour Coat | J. Crew Factory Plaid Flannel Shirt | J. Crew Factory Gingham Button Down
J. Crew High Waist Jeans | Vince Camuto Booties | Nordstrom Purse | RayBan Aviators
J. Crew Factory Field Vest | Sheila Fajl Hoops | David Yurman Bangle | OPI Polish
For our nights out, I packed a few of my go to favorites. I loved this sweater dress and OTK boots that I picked up from Goodnight Macaroon. These lace pants from J. Crew are my favorites for work or for date night. I mean, they have an elastic waist, so duh. I also wore my favorite gold velvet blazer (similar here) and here for the night we ended up at dinner in the suburbs.

I posted last week in my coffee talk that DG is learning how to take my photos. He willingly took my outfit photos and we only yelled at each other once because the camera strap was over the lens. I mean, y’all don’t even know how much progress this is for us. I am using this camera with this adapter and this lens. Do you have any photography lesson tips for someone new to the game?
My favorite part to the camera is the ability to take your own photo because I hate asking people to take photos for us. To be honest, this is one of the only photos we got together, and I regret that.
I hope y’all have a great weekend. Follow along with me on Instastories! I’m heading east before coming back for a fun girls day on Sunday!
Also, be sure to check out this week’s posts. I posted tips on how to create an editorial calendar and my experience with hair extensions that includes a Target gift card!
