I look forward to sitting down in December and really reflecting on my vision for the next year both personally, professionally, and here on I’m Fixin’ To. For my content I create for this space, I typically map out a general plan for each month with topics I’d like to cover, the types of photos I want captured, and any opportunities to collaborate with brands, local businesses, and/or other writers. One of my proudest moments is watching how my goal of creating more travel content about North Carolina has been reflected since I started writing these posts in 2017. Top 10 Most Popular Blog Posts of 2019
This post was a really fun one to write! Some of the items are still on my own bucket list, but some are tried and true favorites from the perspective of a native North Carolinian. What have you checked off this list?
It was in this post that I confessed that I’m not *actually* a fashion blogger. However, I was rather shocked to see that this post was the second most popular posts of 2019. I consider my style to be casual and definitely not trendy, but there are times where I like to glam it up. I think this post does a good job of capturing my varying style. P.S. almost all styles are still available online.
Wilmington is one of the best places for us to take a day trip from our home. We also made two overnight stays to Wilmington this year, including our stay here, and one in the fall. I think the fall trip was my favorite since it was in the 80s and a perfect beach weekend.
Chapel Hill is one of my favorite towns in North Carolina and our staycation at the Chapel Hill was a perfect experience! This quaint town has a lot to offer and is absolutely beautiful regardless on the season!
I’m a big fan of a good coffee shop for catching up with friends or for some alone time to get caught up on work on the weekends. Here are some of the best in and around the Raleigh area.
Despite growing up in North Carolina, I had never been to Pinehurst before this year. It was a really lovely place to unwind while being able to disconnect. We had a really wonderful getaway to end summer and we enjoyed being able to easily walk around the village and the spa experience is out of this world!
I was more than pleasantly surprised with the wineries in western North Carolina on my birthday trip last year. What a wonderful piece of the state’s agriculture! We went on a trip for my birthday, and I cannot recommend that enough! I even hosted a wine tasting with wines I bought while there for my girlfriends, as seen here.
One of my most popular posts of all time is this one about how to see Raleigh in 36 hours, seen here. I decided to expand on that and write the ultimate guide to the best of Raleigh and it is one of my favorite posts I’ve written to date! It’s amazing to see the transformation that Raleigh has gone through in the 10 years I’ve lived here. It makes me proud to call Raleigh home and I love the small town feel in a big city!
David and I had an early ferry to Ocracoke this summer, so we decided to head down a night early and check out Belhaven. I’ve never been to experience the town, so we finally got to eat at Spoon River and stay at the beautiful Between Water & Main Bed and Breakfast. Kasey and Molly are fabulous hosts and I cannot recommend a stay here enough!
I love staying in a hotel and North Carolina has some real gems! I captured the top 10 most unique hotels in North Carolina here in this post and I had a lot of fun relieving my experiences in them!
