I quickly learned was that a lot of my favorite past times included eating in restaurants, meeting friends for a happy hour drink on late Friday afternoons, and getting my nails done. Since our “safer at home” guidance came out, I had the opportunity to get more creative with these past times that I was missing so very much. From ordering take out and having socially distant picnics to perfecting my stay-at-home manicure, I was able to find some normalcy in that. Another way was creating some of my favorite cocktails at home. So, today, I’m sharing three happy hour cocktails to enjoy at home.
3 Happy Hour Cocktails to Enjoy At Home
French 75

One of my very favorite cocktails is a French 75, so I’ve spent some time trying to perfect it. The secret is mixing it well and having fresh squeezed lemon juice and making your own simple syrup. Here’s how to make it:
Add 1 part gin, 1/3 parts sugar syrup, 1/3 parts freshly squeezed lemon juice to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well. Strain into a flute and top with your favorite champagne or Prosecco. Add a lemon twist for a garnish.

Gin & Tangerine La Croix Rosemary Cocktail
This is such a light and refreshing cocktail and super easy to make. Tangerine La Croix is one of my favorite flavors anyway, so this is a cocktail I make with ingredients I typically have on hand with minimal prep work. I can just walk out to the garden and cut some rosemary and voila! Here’s how to make it:
Add 1 part gin, 1/2 parts fresh tangerine juice (optional) and 2 parts Tangerine La Croix to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake well. Strain into your favorite glass and garnish with tangerine and fresh rosemary springs.

Lemon Rosemary Gin Fizz
Clearly, I gravitate towards light and citrusy drinks, and ones that could easily be made into mocktails, too. This one would also be good mixed with a Limoncello La Croix. Here’s how to mix it:
Add 1 part gin, 2 parts fresh lemon juice, and 2 parts club soda to a shaker. Pour over crushed ice and garnish with a rosemary sprig and a lemon twist.

I’ve recently started adding an ice mold to my cocktails for an added touch that reminds me of some of my favorite spots in the area. Other cocktail favorites include this cocktail shaker, these champagne flutes, and these hardball glasses.
